This was taken on November 2001 in the Kosciusko National Park. Mt. Townsend is the ‘little’ brother to Mt.Kosciusko, the second hightest mountain in Australia at 2210m, and only 18m lower. Here the winter snows had melted partly exposing dark rock and ground, whilst the broken cloud cover added some additional tones across the snow covered areas. / ~ / Browse Images by Category : Snow Landscape Nature

Bryce Canyon is well-known for very vivid colors and it is not too often that you see a black and white photograph of it. Although this image turned out fine in color, I converted it to black and white to find that the whites in many of the hoodoo formations stood out well, adding a totally different perspective to the landscape. The Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is a bird of prey found in North America that is most recognizable as the national bird and symbol of the United States of America. This sea eagle has two known sub-species and forms a species pair with the White-tailed Eagle. Its range includes most of Canada and Alaska, all of the contiguous United States and northern Mexico. It is found near large bodies of open water with an abundant food supply and old-growth trees for nesting. The fractalius filter was added to this image to fine tune it, both for saturation and detail.
