I just love Rocky Mountain National Park, spose I always have and always will, though I have to admit that at times I wish we had more clouds in the skies here in Colorado, but I suppose the infamous blues make up for that. The Rockies here just seemed so alive…in that morning light.,...damn that air is fresh I tell ya folks! Anyways, thoughts welcomed, processed in HDR
This is Lake Gunn, on the way to Milford Sound, on the South Island of New Zealand. The lake is within the boundary of the Fiordland National Park, and is surrounded by native bush. It was summer and early morning when this shot was taken. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera.
Walking to a view point of Fox Glacier, in New Zealand, we crossed this beautiful waterfall. It is times like these, that you don’t wish to be anywhere else. Further down, we had to cross this over slippery rocks and rushing water. It is a wonder I didn’t fall in. Fox Glacier is part of the Westland Tai Poutini National Park (established 1960) which extends from the highest peaks of Kā Tiritiri o te Moana/Southern Alps to the remote beaches of the wild West Coast. It is an area of magnificent primeval vistas; snow-capped mountains, glaciers, forests, tussock grasslands, coast, lakes, rivers and wetlands. This world-class scenic landscape has been recognised as such with World Heritage status. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera and timelapse/long exposure of 1 second, handheld (leaning on a railing).

First Light of The Lord Watching this sunrise come up in Rocky Mountain National Park was akin to witnessing paradise unfold before your eyes. Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful and stunning sunrises I have seen in a long while. The way the Alpineglow reflected against the mountains was amazing, the color changing ever so quickly, it seemed to change color as fast as I could hold down the shutter. / Hope ya all like it! Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery View from Mt Kaputar Stopped to take in this spectacular view on my way up to the Summit of Mt Kaputar, New South Wales, Australia. Mount Kaputar National Park is located on 36,817 hectares and is 50 kilometres east of Narrabri and 570 kilometres north west of Sydney. Mount Kaputar National Park consists of a gathering of sharp peaks and rocky ranges, the remnants of a 17 million year old volcano. Millions of years of erosion have carved this volcanic pile into the Nandewar Range, with its dramatic landscape of lava terraces, volcanic plugs and ring dykes. At the peak of the range is Mt Kaputar, which reaches an altitude of 1510m. From the summit it is possible to take in 360 degree views encompassing one tenth of NSW. The National Park is popular with rockclimbers. There are 11 walks in the national park, most offering spectacular views of the area. The park protects a wide variety of plant communities, including semi-arid woodlands, wet eucalypt forests and subalpine heaths. Wildflowers in spring provide a magnificent display. It’s home to a host of animal species, and provides a haven for many threatened species – including bats, birds, wallabies, quolls and a unique large pink slug, which often appears after rain. The main threats to this bird are loss of habitat and excessive predation by the introduced predators, namely cats and foxes. It has been suggested that drought and bushfires may also be exacerbating the impacts of other threatening processes.

On a geography assignment in an informal settlement, I stumbled upon these children. The photojournalist in me inspired me to take this shot. What I love most about this is their varied and contrasting expressions.
I always wanted a “classic” kind of Elk shot, where one can see the steam coming out of their nose and mouth after the Bugle, with snow falling and such, and I think I finally was able to get it ! He gave us a lot of good shots, I will say that! Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado Minolta 5D & Tamron 200-400mm lens
I searched the internet for a really long exposure of Tahquamenon Falls but couldn’t find one. So I figured that my first real shot with my new 10 stop filter would be of this amazing falls. This is a blend of 3 long exposure shots. The first one was 4 minutes, the correctly exposed one was 5 minutes and the bright one was 6 minutes. / Black and white to come soon. / Canon xsi / B+W nd 1000 / B+W CPL
Converted the color long exposure to LAB color and used the lightness channel as a base. Added a cooling filter to give it that icy cool. / Canon XSi / B+W nd1000 / B+W CPL
