  We arrived at Yosemite late at night and couldn’t get a campsite, so we decided to sleep in the back of the pickup as it had a camper cover. Well, we were woken in the wee hours of the morning when a bear cub decided it was going to use a truck as a playground. It was on top of the cap and trying to get through the screens. So we ended up closing the windows – it was definitely hot in there. / The next morning we got a rural campsite and all was well. The Forest Rangers were holding a seminar on bears. We went to it and well let’s put it this way we were lucky it was a cub and not a full grown bear. Apparently, they know what a cooler looks like and what is inside them and they can rip a door off a vehicle to get at it. We had the cooler in the back with us. Not too bright. Well, we were learning. That night we did as we were instructed and hoisted our food up over a limb. We kept a fire going all night as they had told us the bears wouldn’t come near if we did that. We could hear the bears walking around just outside the light of the fire. Even with that it was a wonderful experience. I washed our clothes just in the-i think creek by pounding them on the rocks. It was fun and different from camping in the eastern part of the country.

  Just got back from the north shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota USA. The fall colors are brilliant if you can find a sunny day or two. Which I did, two of sun, one of rain and wind. The wind managed to pick up a 9ft swell on the Lake, amazing. / Heading for home,(NZ), but on the way a quick stop in at Yosemite. Ansel Adams country. And I can nt wait. I’ve been waiting a long time to witness this valley for myself. / So more amazing photo’s to come from Minnesota and Yosemite. / Thanks for your interest in my photography. :) / Enjoy the world and all its sights.
