  • Stormy, rainy, and cloudy for a month now! Doesn’t make for the best of light for photography! LOL! Especially for my CHEEP camera!! Shot this in the dense forest right at dark, and the only light was behind the little walking bridge at Lost Valley, in the Buffalo Wilderness of Arkansas, USA. I could spend all day PLAYING in these woods!! ;:o)

  • El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. A view usually not shown in major photography from the Merced River. This is one of the many photos that were taken the summer of 2008 in Northern California.

  • 100% of proceeds received from Redbubble in respect to sales of this item, will be donated to Bush Heritage Australia Photo of a Yellow-spotted Honeyeater taken deep in the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest of north Queensland. / The photo was taken hand held using a high speed sync flash to overcome the very dark conditions.

  • 100% of proceeds received from Redbubble in respect to sales of this item, will be donated to Bush Heritage Australia Photo of a Southern Cassowary taken in the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest of north Queensland. / The photo was taken hand held using a high speed sync flash to overcome the very dark conditions. The southern cassowary is one of Australia’s most imposing birds – large, colourful, and flightless. It is found only in the dense tropical rainforests of north-east Queensland. Continuing clearing and fragmentation of rainforest, and increased mortality from cars and dogs have reduced cassowary numbers to perhaps as few as around 2000, threatening the species with extinction.

  • A group of bull elk graze peacefully in late summer at Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park.

  • The Roaring Fork in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is located along The Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. It is a classic mountain stream. It has any quality you may be looking for from swift water to calm pools. Most places are within a forest canopy with lush green flora. If you dwell long enough bedside its edge you will also see it is alive with various forms of fauna. Salamanders, Crawdads, insects, and fish all call it home. For anyone wanting mountain stream shots this is the place to go. The Motor Nature Trail is a loop road but doesn’t have near the traffic as Cades Cove.

  • Bear in a national zoo

  • I have been working in Seattle this week and have had the chance to make two quick trips down to rainy Mt Rainier National Park. On the first day I found a spot (on top of Burroughs Mountain above Sunrise) with mountain goat wool and droppings and asked a ranger if this was a good shot to see them. He told me it was but they move pretty fast. I made a return trip on Monday and staked out this area. Nothing. After a few hours waiting and enjoying the spectacular views of the mountains surrounding Rainier(the mountain was refusing to raise her skirts. The cloud line was at about 8-9000 ft), I decided to head back down the mountain. About 3/4 of the way down I hear rocks being dislodged…A herd of more than 20 goats was about 3-400 yards below me on a plane. I hurried down and got some long range shots of the herd and then saw this guy which I assume was the rear guard much closer. He boogied after the rest of the herd and this is one my shots. Still a bit of a crop but it was fantastic seeing them! Canon 50D, 100-400 L lens at 400mm. 1/400 @f8.

  • Big Horn Ram at Glacier National Park

  • The Beach and Pier in Llandudno, North Wales near Conwy, this balck and white image shows the walkway used to get out to the pleasure boats sent from the beach. Here we can see come of the texture highlighted by the lack of colour and use of black and white to build a new image.

  • The Beach and Pier in Llandudno, North Wales near Conwy, this balck and white image shows a more detailed view of the supports and frames that hold up this victorian land mark. We still get a sense of its length here but there is a far higher level of detail
