My mixed-media painting depicts a native American (aka Indian) lamenting the passing of his lifestyle, including the eagle. The background of a smoky haze over a burned out forest emphasizes the devastation he is feeling. This was first published as wall decor accompanied by a copy of a letter written by chief Seattle to the president (Grant, I believe) in which he expressed his concern about the changes his people were experiencing.
