If you travel the M6 between junctions 26 & 27, you may have seen this spot. / Motorists catch a brief glimpse of the canal, the River Douglas, a railway line and a golf course. A narrowboat coming into the Norbury junction . The embankment was built by Thomas Telford as a detour to avoid a landowner’s pheasant shoot. It cost a lot of lives.I like the colour and peace of this.
