  • Two narrowboats moored at the canal side near Cropready on the Oxford canal.

  • A narrowboat coming into the Norbury junction . The embankment was built by Thomas Telford as a detour to avoid a landowner’s pheasant shoot. It cost a lot of lives.I like the colour and peace of this.

  • Narrowboats on the Kennet and Avon Canal in Bath Somerset UK

  • The Leeds & Liverpool Canal at Saltaire in West Yorkshire.

  • a Narrowboat permanently moored by a Pub on the River Lea, in Hackney, London, I just loved the colours and the tyres Love ‘N’ Laughter Kriss

  • Sunset over the Grand Union Canal in Kensal Green, looking west towards Mitre Bridge. Almost every day I walk along this stretch of canal, enjoying how it changes with the seasons, envying those who live in the nicer of the narrowboats. This area becomes fairly industrial, with the North Pole railway yards immediately to the left of this shot and the huge railway marshalling yards of the Willesden Junction complex just beyond. Despite all that, I like the tranquility of this scene. Buy thus photograph for anyone who loves Britain’s wonderful canal system. http://images-0.redbubble.net/img/art/framecolor:mocha/framestyle:box20/mattecolor:off%20white/product:framed-print/size:medium/view:preview/2551492-4-grand-union-canal-at-mitre-bridge.jpg

  • This used to be a very popular sight in the UK. Narrowboats were powered by a horse to transport coal, steel, textiles, etc. between towns and cities. In this case however, tourists are the cargo. Oh, I can assure you that a guy was walking behind this horse, although you cant see him. If you look close you can see that the horse has a mouthful of greenery that it’s picked up on the journey ….. / Taken along the Montgomery canal, between Welshpool and Newtown, Mid Wales Canon 5D, 28-135 IS lens / Photoshop CS3 / PhotoArtMaster Copyright 2009 Richie Dean
