Photographed at Cape Kidnappers, New Zealand The Australasian gannet (takapu) are usually found in large colonies on offshore island around New Zealand and southern Australia and have been nesting at Cape Kidnappers since the 1870s. Numbers have steadily increased to 6,500 pairs, which makes it the largest and most accessible mainland colony in the world. The gannets average lifespan of between 25 to 40 years has a remarkable start. The 16 week old chicks, which have never been airborne before, take on a 2,800 kilometre Tasman Sea crossing. Two to three years later, the young birds return from Australia to undertake tentative mating. However, it is not until they are five years old that they nest in earnest, after which most spend their life around the coastal New Zealand seas

Napier Aquarium, New Zealand
On the east coast of New Zealand, Napier is know for its Art Deco architecture. Its beach is entirely pebbled with small black stones. Three exposure HDR, 10mm @ f22
This was taken in the main shopping mall in the centre of Napier, which is located on the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand. / This is the same area that the movie “Whale Rider’” was shot. / Just beautiful countryside. ===================
I stumbled upon a young lady mesmerized by a peculiar design and its liquid reflections. The unsullied mind took its time to unravel the beautiful message carved in stone. There was carnage on the news later that night. Mostly self inflicted, the rest dished out by a mistreated Nature. In the Chronicles of Doom, looks like, we’ve got our name printed in bold. The way out will require no new plans, but a radically different way of reasoning. It can only be delivered by an inspired generation of free thinkers raised on ideals of Enlightened Humanity, the ones brought up to be creative, not productive. The youth of today. We have to believe they will be the ones to save us. If they don’t, no prayer ever will.

Napier, New Zealand
One distant summer, the essence of agelessness stumbled upon a waterfront, and never left. In Western architecture, all roads lead back to Rome.
