While visiting beautiful Folly Beach, South Carolina, in April, 2008, I lay on the bed listening to the ocean waves and watched the sun’s rays cross the room. I grabbed my camera and began taking pictures of the sun’s progress across the wall and came up with this. During the winter in north Idaho redpolls migrate down from Canada. These two were part of a group that spent the winter at the bird feeder in our backyard. They preferred napping on the ground in places somewhat dry and sheltered. Further north they like to sleep in snow tunnels that keep out the cold wind. The original is painted in water mixable oils on 16”x20” canvas.
