OK…this is a complete experiment…a combination of 2 images – one infrared the other not. I’m trying to learn how to do layers in Photoshop Elements 0.4 Not sure if I have the hang of it yet!! Advice is more than welcome. / / / /

I got really wet for this one. I really should wait for warmer weather to do these sort of shots!
Something a bit different. / Snapped this at my hubby’s work – he’s a teacher.
Inspired by the song “I’m Not Missing You” by Abby Dobson from her album “Rise Up”. i’m not missing you / i’m not staring into space / i’m not blue / i’m not blue i’m not running movies in my head / i’m not sleeping in your t-shirt and making tea for you / searching for your feet in bed i’m not missing you / i’m not staring into space / i’m not blue / i’m not blue
“All things appear and disappear because of the concurrence of causes and conditions. Nothing ever exists entirely alone; everything is in relation to everything else.” Buddha Another version of my all-time favourite place to take infrared. / This is on the Hunter River at a place called Hexam in Newcastle, Australia.
Infrared Canon EOS450D / HOYA R72 filter / Tripod / ISO200 / f/5 / 20sec exposure / itchy legs from the long grass
I got up at 4 this morning to drive 50mins for some sunrise shots. / Fancy getting up at that hour and then realising that your favourite picture out of the bunch is b&w ..stupid, I know! Morisset, Lake Macquarie, NSW.
Sunrise at Morisset.
An infrared capture taken with a HOYA R72 filter. Topaz Adjust was used to give a slight HDR effect on the grass and fence.

Caught the last sunrise before the end of daylight savings…..thankfully the rain stopped and some colour popped through the clouds to make it all worth while ;0)
I’ve been planning this idea for a while – just waiting on the right telly to appear….but bensound beat me to the idea Oh well… This telly belonged to my husbands grandma who passed away last year. I’m sure she would have been looking down on me today having a good chuckle as I lugged the telly around Newcastle Baths.
ND400 + ND4 filters / f/20 / 30sec / ISO100 / 11:27am
I’ve just been asked if “The Chair” would like to be the guest of honour at the Opening of the National Photographic Portrait Prize Exhibition when it tours Newcastle early next month. I’m allowed to tag along too…how cool is that!
Awarded a BRONZE Award at the INTERNATIONAL APERTURE AWARDS 2009. I took this portrait of my father-in-law after a day of lamb marking on the farm. For those of you unsure of what Lamb Marking is, here’s a little insight….. The purpose of lamb marking is to identify, castrate and dock the tails of lambs. The lambs are restrained in a cradle and Ear Marked. In NSW it is compulsory to put the owner’s registered mark in the ear using specially designed ear-marking pliers. They are then Ear tagged in the center of the ear or slightly towards the end. / To castrate the sheep a rubber ring is placed over the scrotum just above the testicles. The ring blocks blood circulation, causing the scrotum and testicles to eventually wither and fall off. To remove their tails a gas-heated de-tailer is used. The heat cauterises the blood vessels, which virtually eliminates bleeding. Sometimes not all blood vessels are cauterised, hence the blood splatter. But the alternative is to cut the tails off with a knife which leaves the sheep to bleed. / And amongst all of that they are also given their vaccination (which is what I did to over 460 lambs). And yes, I know this may be controversial…
I thought it was time to take out the telly again. This one started out as an infrared image and ended up like this ;0)
