My sweet nana died on Friday. She was 90 years old :) / She was known as Rose, so I thought it would be nice to dedicate a rose to her. Rest in peace nana, you will be missed.

Part of what I am is who I am to others. Children bring with them such joy to the world just by being who they are. When I am with my grandson I am a better person I think. He brings that out of me. He has no expectations of me. He does not care if I am right or wrong. He does not care what religion I am or what my spirituality is. He does not care what nationality I am nor if I belong to any groups or clubs. He loves unconditional simply because I am his Nana. When a child is sick or feeling a bit under the weather you can tell. They are more quiet, more calm and less talkative. These young infants may not realize that allowing their bodies to heal itself takes time and needs all its resources to do so. So the calm, quiet time is the healing time. How incredibly wise they are to give themselves exactly what they need. My grandson was “under the weather” this weekend. I gave him the best medicine I could think of … time to rest and Nana’s love. Creed has a song for quiet time Maybe for my desk … /

This is the before and after of my maternal grandmother and my 3 aunts just before my mother was born in January 1915. / One of them had scribbled over the other two! / This is my first attempt at restoring a photo. I’ve done very little and just removed the pencil marks.
