Each of the heads is an exaggerated representation of my own face. I might color this some day.. When I actually have time.
Medium: Oil on Canvas / Description: The Ouroboros shows a snake biting its tail as devours itself. In the center, the snake’s heads form a yin-yang sign and as you move outward, the snakes spiral out into a rainbow of colors. The painting employes an intentional optical illusion for as one moves toward and away from the painting, the snakes can give the illusion of moving in and out. The Ouroboros is an ancient symbol, sometimes depicted as a snake, sometimes as a dragon. Depictions of this form can be found in regions all over the world from China and Egypt to even the ancient Americas in Native American and Mayan art. The image is said to some to represent God, the creator and destroyer, the created and the destroyed. Others say it represents the cycles of nature, evolution and de-evolution. The notion of a serpent or dragon eating its own tail can be traced back to Ancient Egypt, circa 1600 BC.
ANGEL TOUCH Summoned by mortal spoken prayers / To bless those he guards with love / A winged poetic messenger / Sent from Heaven’s clouds above. Whispering words of loving peace / Cleansing the bad you may be told / Sent to watch your every step / Flying above you with wings unfold. So when you feel a light warm breeze / Softly gusting past upon your face / Know that it was the tender touch / Of an angel passing by your place. ☆ ☆ ☆ Tomitheos is an arts & culture photojournalist and news editor; he is also a published author and a canvas artist with a keen interest in cinema, film movies, live concerts, music festivals, theatre events and creative photography.

This painting was inspired by a book on Celtic mythology. Thousands of years and vast oceans may have separated the great human civilizations of the past, but a common thread ran through them all in myth, legend, religion and law, as well as a belief in the importance of the four elements: Earth, Fire, Water and Air.

Beyond you stranger, beside me / There is a young girl who wants to know how you died
I drew this during a time when I was going through an obsession of centaurs. I began looking up images of centaurs on the internet and found all sorts of weird and wonderful interpretations of centaurs, not just your traditional human-horse centaur. The thing about centaurs that fascinated me is that they are not just half human, half horse, they are actually two thirds human, two thirds horse, thereby being made up of the equivalent of one creature and a third. It has two torsos! Anyway, this image came into my head, a centaur where instead of the legs and torso of a horse and the torso and head of a human, it’s the legs and torso of a human and the torso and head of a horse, with the unintended effect of looking like a girl sticking her head up a horse’s bottom.
