A macro photograph of a dragonfly which has been turned into a fantasy design.
This recent digital painting is directly modelled on one of two rare White Ravens born on Vancouver Island in May, 2008. Known by the Haida First Nations people as “Spirit Ravens”, these two wonderful birds were born along with 3 black siblings to two accepting Raven parents. What a thrill it was to watch them fly as my friend and I took hundreds of photos and some fun video footage of these rarities. Spirit Ravens are not albino, although they resemble them from a distance. These birds actually have blue eyes and are every bit as mischievous as their black counterparts. 25% of all sales will benefit the Mountainaire Avian (& Mammal) Rescue Society (M.A.R.S.), in the Comox Valley, Vancouver Island, (B.C., Canada). / They can be visited at their web site at: www.wingtips.org Thank you for helping me to help them. ~ Skye
All Hallow’s Eve and the Moon is high.. is this the Raven Lord I spy? A detailed black Raven head created from an actual photograph by Val, features in this very cool mystical design. Symbols pertaining to Wiccan lore add a little magick for those who love to walk on the darker side
Red / The picture grows from the strong tension, but the explosion creates a flower instead of destruction.

This is one of my favourite woodblock cuts which was featured just recently, but because I was on the road for 5 days I missed the opportunity to have it submitted into the “Best of Black” Challenge. Which inspired me to create a Tee, to give this piece more exposure and credit. Hope you like it too.
