On a hill not far from the cottage, we discovered this lone tree, the moon bearing down on it through the foggy myst. The entire countryside was covered in the magickal spectacle of the fog, with nary a peep from any creatures, the quietness surrounding us and covering us over with its beauty. Digital painting ….I was inspired by a lied composed by Gabriel Fauré ..Aprés un rêve. After singing it on my lesson it kept hold of me the rest of the day.So when I started to paint ,that mysterious night was in my mind. The title of this painting comes from the last words of that song: Reviens ô nuit mystérieuse!

A surrealistic myst hovers over the fields. Warm earth meets cool air… and magic happens. As the sun rises over the horizon, it illuminates the mysterious, silken scenery, woven in the night. If you look closely, you can still see the small swirling circles that were created as the faeries danced in the twilight… as they now drift in to a lazy breeze. LavenderMoon~
