Endangered bird, not to be confused with noisy mynah.

The images in this series were initially taken on black-and-white Ilford H5 Plus film, then scanned and edited for color and contrast. They speak of the poignancy and boredom of zoo life, and the dignity of the animals who live there.
One of the rarest species in the world, Bali mynahs may be extinct in the wild. Found only on the island of Bali, the birds are considered symbols of status and wealth in Indonesia, where trapping has driven the species practically to extinction. Fortunately, Bali mynahs have bred successfully in zoos, and there are several hundred birds at institutions in Europe and North America / /
An Australian native bird, quietly feeding there but they can be quite noisy, indeed. I recently saw a show on TV where a couple of paleontologists said that Australia was where the first songbirds evolved.
Noisy Miner (Manorina melanocephala). ... I think! Taken at the Tim Neville Arboretum in Melbourne.

Wandering through bushland near Brooklyn, NSW, this little fellow’s curiosity got the better of him, and he came down to take a look at me and the friend I was with, then, unconcernedly, set about having his elevenses. Taken with the Pentax K200D / Shutter: 1/125 / Aperture: f/7.1 / Focal Length: 300mm / ISO 100 This photograph has been accepted for the Pentax gallery! /
I took this also at our local zoo, it is a Bali Mynah, on the endangered species list and almost extinct.
Taken at the Brookfield Zoo on a visit with my friend Marija Sony a350 / Sony 70-300mm lens, image shot at 210mm
