MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD Best viewed large. / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group COUNTRY ROADS/AROUND THE WORLD / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group NATURAL COLOR AND LIGHT / This is a recent photo of my favorite country road! It is located in Flatwoods, Kentucky, in Greenup County, which lies in the northeastern part of the bluegrass state. Many of my relatives live in or just outside of Flatwoods, and my Dad built this one. The scenery from this road is almost surreal, it is so beautiful. Surrounding this road are country farms, barns and old churches. This road winds around a gorgeous mountain cloaked with a variety of lush trees and evergreens, whose leaves are radiant in the Fall of the year with brilliant shades of yellow, orange, red, brown and green. At the top of the mountain is the end of this magnificent road, which leads to a private, gated mansion that overlooks the entire county. It is very quiet and peaceful there, and everything, including time, seems to stand still on this beautiful road. It is a breath-taking view from the very top, and this is truly my favorite country road!..

Only once in a great while does everything comes together to make conditions ideal for a image that turns out to be perfect. I think this is the closest I have come in over three thousand sunset pictures taken. I have only saved 551 of those thousands of sunset photos. This one is my favorite of all I have ever taken.

This has been photographed in part of Bolton, everytime we drive through on this road facing that way, I just love how the road and the houses just swerve around the corners. / Photographing my neighbourhood around and about!

I am one of the few people who have seen this waterfall at all and on my last visit to it this tree had sprouted up in it. It was spring and the light was good in the canyon. I want to go back next spring and see what it looks like after a couple fires and the drought. Hopefully we have some rain this winter…

This a hand painted etching. I have only printed a dozen of these. This is the only one I have hand painted. It seems to be the most popular of my works so I am excited to see how many people view it. I love this print and think it is also one of my favorites.

Yes, Yes, I know this is the laziest shirt I’ve ever done but I love these words so much!!! Take “Fruit Cup” for example. I can literally say this word repeatedly for half an hour. It makes me giggle and the more I say it, the harder it is to say right (I mean, for chrissakes, how grammatically correct is it to put an “R” after an “F”) and then I get into this whole introspective analysis of how I, as a child, was able to mimic my mother making this peculiar sound and that evolves into the study of the words following such as “Noodle” (Noooooooooodle) (This can also be replicated upon the word “Strudel”(Strooooooooodle), then I spontaneously combust from the excessive propulsion of the protons and neutrons residing in my understimulated cranium. Yes, today has been a rough day at work.

While in Coralla, NC to check on my friends Beach House (Hurricane Noel was paying a visit), I drove up to Curritck to check on the Whalehead Hunt Club. Took this HDR image, which wasn’t easy to take multiple exposures with the wind howling. I was a little dissapointed to see that the Osprey’s nest is no longer on the far left chimney. this picture was take with one of the little plastic lomo cameras that I’m taking with me on my big trip south in a couple of days…...its a little four lens action camera and as you can see it takes a series of four images in succession on the one frame…. the image is of a particularly lovely twisted and knarled old tree trunk down but the forshore of the harbour near where I live.
