Please view larger to appreciate details. This is a gel pen drawing on Canson 120gsm A4 Metallic Pink Paper (available in Craft/scrapbooking shops, it says it is good for pen, marker and craft). I drew it for my youngest daughter / as she was leaving home, like the little bird. I drew the grass first then the flowerheads then added the bird so I could use it as a card and screensaver for her. Hope you like it. I also selected the following song to inspire her: / It is “Be youself because everybody else is taken” by Melinda Schnider (a great Aussie Singer). / It is an honour to place in the Top Ten of the Inspired Art Challenge about advice to children. I started with a pastel mandala painting that I wasn’t happy with, played with it, stretched it, colored it differently, added some textures. While I was working this afternoon on the finishing touches on this one, I was listening to ‘The Be Good Tanyas’ on my iPod and this song came on. A Thousand Tiny Pieces What a perfect title! And the lyrics fit my mood today, philosophical, appreciating life, remembering some beautiful fall hikes with a special man…...... things certainly do keep changing…......
