  • There are often many photos that I don’t put up for some reason or another, but they actually mean a lot to me and carry a story. I’ve decided to share them with you. Welcome to my Share Life Collection. These mushrooms were found at my home home during the Christmas holidays. It had been very very wet, and these cute glowing mushies were sprouting up everywhere. • Mixed Media Work of a cute little mushroom…

  • Found these guys too cute to not shoot, they are about 25mm (1 inch) tall, and very delicate indeed. they seem to like the mossy areas at the base of trees, alive or dead. Found these in the national park, just North of Lorne VIC, on the Great Ocean Road. Canon 50D, 400mm.

  • I LOVE these mushrooms above all others that I find. / These are called Netted Rhodotus. There are no others in their family. An extremely unique fungi in the structure the cap achieves threw it’s cycle of life. Originally they start off smooth like most other mushrooms, but then must go threw a wet/dry/wet spell in order for the cap to get that amazing ‘crackly/netted’ look to it. My state is about the only ‘common’ location for this species. I’ve been recording it now only 2 years and know that it returns twice a year to the same location…and now I know it comes back to the same location the next year! /

The day I added my first image to RedBubble, some lovely people took a moment out of their lives to comment and tell me how much they liked it. They could see past my blurry focus and amateur composition and found something genuine and kind to say. When I realised that the whole community was like this, so giving of their praise and thoughts, I was instantly hooked. Before long, commenting back and forth turned into conversation, and conversations into friendships. We saw each other every day on RedBubble, we shared similar passions, and we all wanted to surround ourselves with creativity and be inspired. RedBubble was the fertile soil in which to grow relationships with other artists and creative people. Exhibitions, meet ups, holidays away together, creative successes – there have been far too many good times to comment on them all here. But I will mention just one. As happens in all good romance novels, I fell in love. I might sell 50 framed prints tomorrow, but nothing is going to beat that! A few weeks ago James proposed and this Sunday we are getting married. It’s going to be a small gathering of family and sprinkling of friends, overlooking the ocean. Then, we’re off to Italy for a month to take as many photographs as our several external hard drives can handle. Today is my last day in the office before all the festivities begin, so if I don’t answer your bubblemail, it’s because I’m sipping espresso on a terrace in Venice. Arrivederci!

  • Taken with my Nikon D60 (DX 18-55 lens)

  • October 2009 / I Was walking along the shore of Derwent reservoir in the Peak district, Derbyshire and spotted this tiny mushroom, I mean really tiny, not much bigger than my little finger nail…it was sort of trying to grow in what looked like a bit of manure, nestled in between the shoreline rocks, it was surviving … a call for the macro lens was heard so out came the Tamron 90mm macro lens and I swiftly attached it to my Nikon D300 DSLR. Here’s the results of my snapping away.. / Equipment used : / Nikon D300 / Tamron 90mm macro / Settings on camera : / Aperture priority / centre weighted metering / f 4.5 / 1/320 sec / ISO 200 /
