The Sydney Heritage Fleet brought the 3 masted, steel hulled James Craig to dock at historical Williamstown. Built in 1874, it carried cargo around the world, until it was abandoned in favor of the steam revolution and sunk in 1932. Restored in 1972.

In a rickshaw in Udaipur, Rajasthan.. despite the grime and grit of flying along in one of these things along Indias dusty roads, you’re often dazzled by the wonderful saris of passers-by..
Early morning sunrise shot of the dead and dying magestic Red Gum trees lining the banks of back waters, River Murray, Lyrup South Australia.
Rust piling up against the base of the bridge used for commuters to cross the Murray River.
Last light, sunset, Mannum South Australia. It was just before dark driving along the River Murray heading towards Mannum and I saw the light through the willows lining the banks. Just had to stop for this shot.

Again last light on my most recent visit to Mannum on the River Murray. Thanks to Dave from the Mannum Motel for taking me to this spot as part of their photography tours setup. An amazing sky and sundown all at the same time. The Murray even though under stress continues to serve as the main lifeblood of this region. There is still plenty to see, do, and places to visit so don’t give up on the people along the whole Murray who need us to keep on visiting to keep their businesses alive…
Taken at the Mannum Caravan park at sun rise. Nikon D200 – 18-200mm / 10sec @ f/11

Shot at Loxton in South Australia on the banks of the Murray River. That moment between day and night has some beautiful colours.

Another gorgeous sun set out of Mannum! The deep Blue sky, with wispy white clouds approaching made it worth while being late for work!! (self employed!) Taken just out of Mannum SA on the River Murray Canon 400D, 18/55 kit lense, Polariser, HDR, merged in PhotoMatix, finished in CS2
Late afternoon, Lyrup flats between Renmark and Berri in the Riverland of South Australia. Afternoon shots whilst waiting for the sun to go down for a night time shoot. The clouds reflecting nicely on the still backwaters. Again a visit to one of my favourite places where these huge River gums stand defiant against nature, dead but not finished……. Canon 400D 18-55 lens, CIR Polarising filter. Three shot panoramic stitch in CS3 and converted to B&W in the same program.
Image taken over the junction of Australia’s two mightiest rivers, the Murray River which starts up in the Australian Alps and is most the border between Victoria and New South Wales, before meandering across through South Australia to Lake Alexandra and the Southern Ocean, and the Darling River, which starts it’s long journey in Queensland, and meanders down through western New South Walea to eventually meet with the Murray River at Wentworth in far south Western New South Wales. / /
The second from the series taken on this beautiful day. Many thanks to everyone for your supportive comments on the last post of this area. I will get to your pages soon… Backwater reflections again from one of my favourite spots, located between Berri and Renmark at the Noora evaporation area. Don’t you just love the river Murray and surrounds….. Tall majestic dead Redgums stand defiant against the morning glows. Canon 400D – 17-85 lens. Two shot panoramic stitched in Photoshop CS3.

The remains of river redgums in this area always create amazing reflective images. Nothing better than being just a stone throw from the might River Murray at sunup watching the shadows stretch as the sun breaks the horizon. Canon 400D 17 -8 lens with CIR Polariser. / F 4.0 / Focal length 17 / 1/1000th second.
