I hope the owners of this house enjoy their little feathered visitor, too!! Image taken in Tucson, Arizona on April 19, 2009 with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens … post processed in Photomatix from a single hand-held image at +/-2 eval, then some tinkering in Photoshop.

This was completed for the Scottish Drawing Competition 2009 at the Paisley Art Institute. It was accepted and hung at Paisley Museum during the exhibition. It is a pencil drawing on cartridge paper with some light pastel colouring. I used my trusty mechanical pencil with 2B lead – always sharp and no having to sharpen. Though there’s a less broad choice of stroke, sometimes this can bring a uniformity if required. It’s, I think, approx. 50×30 cm.
