acrylic on canvas / slightly altered in ps this piece was not so easy to do, i had to dig into my mind, into parts shut off shut down blocked off but always there… / this is a glimpse into how i came to be who i am today. Theres a story to this / based on true events / tho i’ve never understood it / it has never made sense / how one who was given all of my trust / all of my love and all of my lust / crushed it and twisted me / til there was nothing much left / broken and bruised / and living regret / These were my dark days / my youth mispent / when my heart belonged to a monster / and my shattered soul wept / Years went by in this madness / why i cannot say / but this event depicted here / was the beginning of the end of my dark days / he tried to put out the light that i am / he attempted to end it all / but that fate was not the fate meant for me / and somehow i survived the fall Domestic abuse happens everywhere, both in seen and unseen places, / it isnt somethin only depicted on tv, its real and its happening. / and not just to those you’ll never meet / one day it mite happen to you / or someone you love / one way we can help fight this injustice / is awareness, education, resources and aide for those in need. / Intolerance of abuse against women, children, even some men…, of any nature, is needed to break the cycles of abuse and neglect. / We need more Resources. Our planet is slowly dying of disrespect. Governments and industries are not doing enough to stop the global warming process. People have changed their daily habits, sometimes quite a bit, to help control pollution, but in many cases, it’s only as long as there is no extra cost or too much effort involved. In the meantime the Earth is sick, bleeding to death. Another composite created for a challenge. I’m really pleased with myself because I wanted a texture layer with splatters or drippings or leaking of some kind, and I was about to purchase a stock image, when I decided to try making my own. I went through my things, and picked a tube of bright red poster paint, which I diluted with a bit of water to make it manageable, added corn syrup for texture and a splash of concentrated beef stock to darken the mix. I used a kitchen brush to make the splatters on an old board and made several shots. Captain Spaulding is a fictional character created by Rob Zombie and portrayed by Sid Haig in the films House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects Captain Spaulding was born on April 13, 1918 in Ruggsville, Texas with the name Johnny Lee Johns. He spent a small part of his childhood in the Ruggsville County home for orphaned boys until being adopted by a black family. Johnny Lee would soon grow very close to his adoptive brother Charlie. Johnny Lee developed an interest in sideshow deformities and violent crime photography, foreshadowing his Captain Spaulding persona. He began his murder spree as Mr. Ding Dong a Bo-Bo using his clown character’s name. Charlie would refer to him as Cutter after Johnny Lee stabbed a man to death, which he would take as his name. Around the fall of 1947, Cutter met Mother Firefly, who at the time took the alias Eve Wilson. She already had two children of her own, Rufus and Tiny. Cutter lived with Eve Wilson, even raising their daughter Vera Ellen together. During the summer of 1965, Otis B. Driftwood, wandered into Ruggsville County. He and Otis quickly became close companions and rivals. The two would often fight for control of the family. Otis was asked to live with the family; whom Otis called The Fireflys and it was he who also nicknamed Cutter, Captain Spaulding.
