This is my shot of my favourite mountain … Blaven on the Island of Skye given the Andy Gibb HDR treatment …. I think it is fantastic ….. what do you think???
Glen Coe, Scotland
The Buachaille Etive Mor is a magnificent mountain of four distinct peaks standing at the head of Glen Etive and overlooking the north-west corner of Rannoch Moor. The best known view of the mountain is from the north and east, from where the great rocky cone of Stob Dearg is the outstanding feature of the mountain. Extending south-west from Stob Dearg, a 7-kilometre long ridge goes over two Tops, Stob na Doire and Stob Coire Altruim, and ends at Stob na Broige, another very steep and rocky peak overlooking lower Glen Etive. I was up glencoe this weekend, i missed two pictures featured which im extremely happy about. This is the view from Ben Starvie looking out onto the beautifull glencoe area. A hand tint was all that was added to just add that little extra. A stunning day with clear blue sky and barely a breeze.
I wish i could wake up to this every morning. Shading added to the edges to draw attention to middle. The mountain in view is Ben Starvie im aprox four miles from the base of the mountain. It was also much steeper than it looks once we started climbing :o)
Slioch, and Loch Maree. (I think it is worth viewing larger!) This is one of my favourites for many reasons, but mainly due to the CD which was playing in the car as I toured the area – Long Distance, by Runrig. Such an inspirational band for me over the years…..... As such, I saved this until last of my images from my Scottish foray. I hope you have enjoyed viewing them over the last month or so. For now, its back to scratching what I can from the English landscape until May 2009, when, hopefully, there will be a few more surprises presented on RB. My next projects, involve a bit of experimental stuff, and more wildlife work, so, if I dont catch up with you over the festive period, please enjoy yours, and I hope 2009 is a bit brighter than the tail end of 2008 has been for many. All the best / Graeme
