Something in the style of the German Expressionists (Macke, Marc) I so admire. The subject is my local park in Hackney one dreamy summer afternoon.
Our inglorious Minister for Immigration makes another alleged rascist edict. What is the outcome? Ask the Sudanese.
The lovely Jewish Snowman welcomes his new friend to the neighborhood. / Truly unusual winter holiday card. (Jewish and Christian) / Or for welcoming someone to their new home.
No bears or little critters were harmed in these photoshoots, they got fed well with Honey and Jam Sandwiches and Pink Lemonade, which is the reason they have Red Tee Shirts to hide the spills. An oil painting of Uluru and some of my best friends get together for a little chit chat.

Ok I’m working on an entry for a big photographic prize… and the theme is…. Entrants to the Open Section are asked to interpret‚ Contemporary Life in Australia‚ with an emphasis on Australians going about their day-to-day lives within their environment. I only started this last night after having had some film …. sigh yes film… processed…. it’s a combined image of two shots I took on Australia Day… you know Monday just gone… one is a close up of the sun just risen and glowing gold and the other is a wide angle shot of one of the little ocean pools at Austi Beach with all the familys splashing about in the shallows doing what most people do on Australia Day…. My idea was to make a sort of marquette that honours the Aboriginal Flag with it’s striking design but that incorporates all Australians in their wide and wonderful diversity….. just people…. all aussies together under the southern skies with the golden sun burning down and the seven sisters above watching us sleep at night… so does this work ? or is it back to the drawing board for me…. the thing is the comp closes tomorrow so if I am going to enter …. I have to really focus on this….. feedback anyone?
OK here I am glued to the ‘puter on this beautiful sunny day… working on an entry for a comp out there in the real world….just a while ago put up my first version of Australia Day.... and took on board the feedback I got… this one is basically the same but the elements of the Australian Aboriginal Flag have been more emphasised to push its harmonizing elements more into the image of the beachgoers here at my local beach…. now is this too strong or too overwhelming or too biased toward this particular flag design?..... our other Aussie Flag having been hijacked somewhat by a less than attractive subset of the genus australianus in recent times…..
I put up an artwork I was working on for a photo comp I was interested in entering and it occurs to me that it would look pretty cool as a tee shirt as well…..
This is a view of my wonderful hometown taken from Mt Keira lookout. Although it was a very overcast day, with the amazing ability of Photoshop I have been able to still get a reasonable shot. I live about the same distance from the ocean as the view you can see, it takes about seven minutes to get to our fabulous beaches and behind my home is the rainforest and escarpment which so far has escaped development. Wollongong is a vibrant community 0f 284000 people from approximately 82 different nationalities and is lovingly referred to by locals as “The Gong”. / This wonderful lookout is a place we used to enjoy at least twice a month on a regular basis with our very large family. There are beautiful walking tracks, lookouts and a picnic area as well as a coffee shop with views to die for. We used to laugh because we would drive for twenty minutes to reach the lookout, then pay to use the big telescope to see where we had just come from. / Looking for somewhere to holiday? Come to the Gong. / Thanks for visiting / Taken with my Canon 40DSLR this is a compilation of two photos which have joined and blended using Photoshop, / Thanks for visiting /
My daughter has had the oppurtunity of going to a school that has kids from lots of different cultures. It is an oppurtunity that i never had until I got to University. That is one of the reasons I love Halifax so much. When I saw this image for the first time, I immediately thought that it had a powerful mesage in it. friendship, love, & “racial harmony”. I have signed releases from the girls in this picture and from their parents.
Part of what I love about Melbourne is its vibrancy and its diversity. It is a city full of difference that most of the time blends well together. However, the amazing “colours” of each group of people in Melbourne are never lost and stand out in their own right. This adds to the dynamic nature of this beautiful city and is what I have tried to achieve here with this shot. Shot is of a new & modern apartment building in Melbourne’s city. Post-processing in Photoshop.
