Lightening Storms crossing Port Phillip Bay ~ Melbourne city glow on the horizon contrasting with the blue grey storm light…Quite a night of activity and finally a little rain to wet the appetite…need more, much more…!!
Red Sky Morning…Signifying a cold front incoming and true to form…plenty of stormy wind and rain today. Crazy Victorian. weather…40 deg. C one day, snowing the next…!! Love this changeability though, variety being the spice of life..!!..Taken this morning down the Walkerville Coastline…Vic. Aus… / Thanks for looking…rgs, Rob.
Sunup along the Waratah Bay Coastline ~ Victoria ~ Land of Aus… / Similar to another shot I’ve uploaded recently….but I think I prefer this one with the flowy water and all..anyway the feedback will tell if others agree and the other one can come off….thanks for any comments…cheers, Rob.
After trekking the whole day in a cloud…as per a couple previous uploads…and having bumped into a couple keen photographers who were also braving the constant drizzle, I decided to wait around to see what would happen, long after seeing these other photographers heading back….I watched and waited from a nearby peak as the cloud layer slowly lifted at the end of the day revealing the lake below and the mountains their Autunmnal colors….it truly was a sight to behold, and to photograph..This was a big day, with a 03:00 start out and hike up in the dark to finally getting back down, again in darkness…but one of the most memorable days out I’ve ever had…Taken recently at Cradle Mountain ~ Van Diemens Land ~ Aus….
Another upload to my Eaglehawk Neck and Tasman collection…I love the surging waves in this shot and the cool light…for me, it feels like being back there on this cold autumn morning a few weeks back…thanks for looking and recent comments..cheers, Rob.
Tessellated Rock Formations along the Tasman Peninsula. / Similar I guess to a previous upload which I’m about to remove as I much prefer this landscape version….thanks for any views and comments…cheers, Rob.
Saltwater Creek Coal Mine ruins…T’was a miserable place back in the mid 1800’s. The bad ass prisoners were sent here to work underground in the cold, wet and filthy conditions. Only to look forward to a cold cell the size of a toilet at the end of the day. In fact, the mine was closed down when a Governess inspected the place and couldn’t believe the atrocious conditions these men lived under…..thanks for any views and comments..
Panorama of 14 images and around 300 degrees fov….Taken from near Hansons Peak ~ Cradle Mountain N.P. ~ Tasmania ~ Aus. / A beautiful scene surrounded by the Autumnal tones of the Fagus. Taken late in the day when the cloud layer lifted and around the same time as a couple of single shots of this place I uploaded a short time ago. As always, I lugged my heavy pano head everywhere I went trekking. Often questioning whether it was worth it as it weighs down your pack considerably..I thought if there was any a time to use it, this was it..! clambering up over rocks to this vantage spot and fired off a few pans. Finally trekking back off the mountain in the dark but very happy with the days efforts….thanks for having a look and any comments…cheers, Rob. / ps, and yes, I’m getting towards the end of my Tas collection…finally..!! Still a few pans to work on from the Tasman though..
Dawn shoot on a not so tropical morning in one of Magnetic Islands rocky bays. North Queensland ~ Australia..thanks for looking..
The very bouldery Magnetic Island ~ Nth. Queensland ~ Aus..
Triple M….Moody Magnetic Morning…Magnetic Island ~ Nth. Queensland ~ Land of Aus…Very different than the blue, blue tropical shots from this area that one see’s in all the tourist brochures..Give me moody storm lighting any day, I say..!! / Thanks for looking and comments always welcome…cheers, Rob..
As per some of my previous uploads…Another panorama from this area.. / This one is a 14 shot pan – portrait orientated – non hdr…around 320 deg. fov.. / Taken a short time after the pano below as the sunlight started to fade and the cool dusk tones started to form…thanks for having a look, and any comments most welcome, as always…
Beautiful deep pool, so tranquil and blue when the tide is low. One just has the urge to dive into this one and sit on the bottom for awhile gazing up at the rocky overhangs and watching the fish that call this place home…... / This shot is a 6 shot pan x 3 shot hdr. in portrait mode…... / thanks for having a look…. / rgs, Rob.
Sister Shot from this rocky outcrop and deep, deep beautiful rock pool…Quite a hard one to compose for really – well a challenge I’m up for and although I don’t think I’ve perfected it in these couple of shots, I do like the mix of elements – moody sky, rocky rock and emerald deepness….thanks for having a look, critique and comments always most welcome….cheers there Bubblers, / rgs, Rob.
Back Beach days end…Mornington Peninsula…..incomming tide washing over the rock shelf and some cool weather on the way.
Panorama taken at St. Pauls beach, Mornington Peninsula…Taking in around 270 deg fov here…sort of wished I kept going for the full 360….thanks for looking..
Japan Alps. Taken from the top of Shiga Kogens Mt. Higashitiyama. This shot, as per the one below was taken with my 18-200VR out at 200..The mountains of Myoko in the distance are around 200 or so k’s away. The soft late afternoon glow really made looking through the zoom lens a treat….thanks for having a look…
Nothing like a hot bath on a cold Winters day..
Can one get any more relaxed than this? ~ Japanese Macaque ~ Jigokudani ~ Honshu ~ Japan.. yet another upload to my Monkey Day Spa collection….
Couldn’t resist a tramp across some paddocks to photograph this tired old Fordson Major tractor resting peacefully. The mono version has the edge I think for this type of photograph…thanks for having a looksee and comments always welcome. HDR shot. 3×1stop brackets, hand held.. PM-pro blending & tonemapped. Finished off in PSCS4.
West Coast ~ Victoria. Wasn’t sure if I was going to put this one up or not..but what the.?..might as well I thought.. / The weather has been very grey down this way and not much chop for quality light – having said that, I’m about to get up at stupid ‘o’ clock and do a dawn shoot tomorrow, despite the rain forecast – you never know…! thanks for having a look in…cheers, Rob.. 3 shot hdr – 1stop brackets, tripod mounted..blended and tone mapped in PM-Pro, finished off in PSCS4.. / Sigma 10-20 @ 10mm, f16 ISO100..
The finely erroded lunettes of the Walls of China, Mungo N.P.~ Outback N.S.W ~ Australia. It’s an awe inspiring ancient landscape to wander around.
The beautiful Toorongo River rainforest. Another upload from our recent day in the forest collection as per below..
The church of the Good Shepherd ~ Lake Tekapo ~ New Zealand.. Windy conditions making it hard to capture the lupins without blurring..lots of shots taken but I got a few good one’s in.. / The Happiest of New Years to you all..hope 2010 is full of photographic inspiration for everyone.. / cheers, Rob..
