  • Common to Central Australia. I’ve had a bit of trouble photographing these lovely fowers. Because of their soft fuzzy look, in spite of being sharp the images always turn out looking poorly focussed. I finally triumphed with this backlit shot taken at sunset in the Tanami Desert.

  • Driving through the hilly coastal area of Cape Naturaliste, I spotted a really unusual plant on the side of the road and had to stop. I have never seen a plant like this before, not even one vaguely similar, although I am familiar with most that grow in this region. It was like a type of groundcover, but was not prolific – i only found the one plant there in the gravelly soil. But the flowers were simply amazing.
