Recently, both publicly and privately I’ve been discussing my processes with you kids! Although all of the elements here (basically everything with a thickblackoutline) were pre-existing, ......... it took about 4-5 hours to put together!

Blueberries for eyes? Maybe I’ve gone too far this time. Maybe I haven’t gone far enough. I do like blueberry muffins though. They’re pretty adorable. I can’t figure out what my favorite muffin of all time is though. Maybe it’s chocolate with chocolate chips… or lemon poppyseed, or perhaps it is even a flavor I have yet to try. Sorry, blueberry pal, but it’s not you.

These captures are of our frisky and wonderfully silly rescued bob-tail “Muffin”. / When I can catch him setting still for five minutes he usually delights me with some great poses. I couldn’t choose between these three. Hope you have a favorite. Captures are As Is using a KODAK Easyshare ZD710 Camera. Muffin on Grooming / Muffin On Grooming (2) / Muffins Rescue Story / On the 24th of December in 2006 our dogs began creating quite a fuss at the fence at the back of our yard. Knowing that the neighbors behind us often have stray cats cross through their back yard I did what I typically do and called our dogs back and made them hush without really going out to inspect what it was they might have been barking at. / Christmas day came and we were busy with family and friends but on the 26th I was rather annoyed this time as the dogs were STILL going straight out into our back yard and creating WAY too much of a fuss at the fence. / Over the years I’ve really learned to trust them by their actions, and while it’s not uncommon for them to just “be dogs” and bark at a passing cat, there was something about their antics that was “just not right”. / So I wandered out into the back yard to see for myself just what it was that had them so animated. I couldn’t find a thing. Watching them, I could tell they saw “something” that I wasn’t seeing and when I finally got them to stop barking I thought I was hearing the faint cry of a cat. I looked high into the tree tops and couldn’t see any signs of a cat. My eyes scanned across the ground of my neighbor’s backyard and still I couldn’t see anything. / But the dogs were adamant by their actions that “something” was there. / The following day, the 27th, was a beautiful and rather warm day for December, and the crying cat I thought I had heard was really bothering me. So I decided to spend the afternoon working a little in the yard, close to the fence, thinking that there must be a cat in a tree that I was missing. / Our little Corgi Mix, Shorty, was the one that finally trained my eyes in the proper direction because as I watched him, I could tell that what they were seeing was at ground level, and close by as he would look at me, look at the fence, hop a little and poke the fence with his nose. I was certain by this time that my ears weren’t playing tricks on me either, as I was definitely hearing a cat cry I just couldn’t see it. Suddenly, like when you see one of those hidden images of Jesus in the picture of a flower garden, I saw this small live trap, no tarp covering, setting on the ground in our neighbor’s backyard, only a few feet away from me and inside it was this tiny little kitten. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The cage was empty, no food, nothing…except for the kitten who I so feared for at that moment because I knew the poor thing had been there like that through the freezing cold nights of the past few days. / Being extremely angry that someone would set a live trap and then walk away and not check it for days I came back inside the house and got my husband and he climbed over the fence to find this tiny fellow, setting in his own waste and just begging to be released. / Hubby brought him back over the fence and left the trap closed and we brought “Muffin” right on in, warmed him and cleaned him up and of course offered him food and water. He ate like he had obviously been starved for a few days, but otherwise, I was pleased to see after a quick once over, that he wasn’t injured or suffering physically due to exposure. He allowed my husband to cuddle him and warm him in his coat and was never fearful of us, or the dogs or the other cats. He was such a trooper and so lucky to have had such a strong constitution because the longer I thought about the situation, and my neighbors habits, I had no idea how long he may have been in that trap. / We took him to the vet immediately and he got a good report. He was such an adorable kitten and I nicknamed him my little “Muffin Man” and the name “Muffin” stuck. ;o)
