I used my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT with EOS Lens 18 -55. / BEST VIEWED LARGE. TAKEN AS IS. I loved taking these shots at Yellowstone National Park, Wy., because the colors are amazing there, and the volcanic activity etc is also amazing…the park is not to far from where I live and I figure all the volcanic activity in my own mountains could even be related to Yellowstone. The earth is very much alive in this whole area. I mean several States, and if you hike you will find even more that you would never see any other way. Mother nature is full of peace and rage both, and this is a perfect example of that to me.
A Grey Heron waiting for his dinner in the tidal flow at the Wigtown Bay salt marsh reserve. I just liked the monotone colouring in this shot.
I liked the reflections of the clouds in this one and it looks so peaceful! / / / / / / / / / / /
Wild horse in Utah after getting out of the watering hole.
A girl from Taquile, Island in Titikaka lake is filling her cup with drinking water. The houses are built from mud and stones, and there are no running water or plumbing in the houses. Beds are built in from mud above the floor and a mat is placed on top. I spent two days in this house and the family hospitality was incredible. The girl belong to the Aymara ethnic group / Originaly a 35mm slide. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- /
Tadpoles and frogs caught by kids in floodwater. Luckily this was a catch-and-release operation, but kids will be kids…! Found in the melonholes linked by floodwater on a property north of Goondiwindi. All of the growth stages are represented, from a tiny tadpole to the partially developed midway stages, right up to the fully formed frog. A bit of a mini cycle of life caught on camera, as well as showing how life directions can be altered by things far beyond your control…

There has been one sale of this image. In November 2008 this image was featured in the group, Buyers R Us. In February 2009, this image placed third in the U.S. Parks Wildlife Shots challenge hosted by the AMERICA’s National Parks and WILDLIFE Habitat group. A thousand Yellowstone wonders are calling, ‘Look up and down and round about you! John Muir – 1898 The temperatures were in the single digits on this cold, snowy January morning at West Thumb Geyser Basin, which is one of the smallest geyser basins in Yellowstone. A incredibly scenic area along the shore of Yellowstone Lake, West Thumb only has a small amount of geyser activity. However, the basin more than makes up for it with its diversity. Despite its small size, it has paint/mud pots, hot springs, pools, lake shore geysers, and fumaroles. Fumaroles are small openings that release steam and other gasses. You can see in the foreground the muddy, soupy waters inundating the paint pots. The white area beyond the tree line in the right hand side of the photograph is Yellowstone Lake. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Please don’t copy or download this image. Heavy rains at last – but taking top soil and silt with it as it flows across a small waterfall at Currency Creek, Fleurieu, South Australia. A powerful stretch of water but very brown in colour!! Shot with a Canon 400D, 2 second exposure, 18-55 lens with ND4 filter.

The St Germans viaduct in Cornwall, UK, which spans the Lynher River that flows 106 feet below. / The viaduct was built in the 1850’s, and the Lynher River is a tributary of the Tamar River. Taken at Lake Glenmaggie, Victoria at the time of year where inflows into the catchment are at their lowest, generally around autumn. The remains of the old Glenmaggie township can be seen as the water goes below 20-odd %. Shot with a Nikon D200, 18-35mm lens, 1/3 sec @ F/22, 100 ISO, .9 ND grad filter, hand held.

Ahem, no, I’ve not seen the wizard of Oz… Saw this at the Manchester antifreeze Art boot sale, definitely bizarre.
The beginnings of the Earth was a very violent place. Molten rock, fire spewing from the hundreds of volcanoes. Nothing could possibly survive on this new planet. After millions of years, the oceans began to fill up, possibly from the bombardment of astriods and comets, bringing with it ice from space. Things changes dramatically, and life befan to flourish.. When I first viewed this image from the camera, I though, it looks like the sky is on fire, and the water is molten rock. Then this small bloom of life in the forground.. Lake Doonella, sunset, Noosaville, Queensland, Australia. Canon 5D Mk II, 50mm. Available very Large, and best viewed Large!
