Small karps swimming in a pond in Hase Temple (Kamakura, Japan). It was a very hot day; it was one of Japan’s hottest summers (reached 40 degrees celcius), and very bright; hence the reflections. Also available at Zazzle More fish at Hase Temple:
What better way to complement a sunny day than a golden creature! Location: Hase Temple (Kamakura, Japan)

This was during my stay in Japan. On this day there was a typhoon to be expected so instead of going out, my landlady and I visited her friend Ayumi. This is her cat Hotaru; her name means “firefly” in Japanese. Even though it was chilly outside, I felt warm with little Hotaru sleeping in my lap; my little firefly… Taken on July 15, 2007 with am Olympus FE-220 (Ayumi’s camera). I also did a drawing:
I drew this last night under the recommendation of a fellow redbubbler. This is her Baby. I hope she likes it. I played around with the scanner setting and thought this looked the best. Happy Easter!
I did this this morning. So basically my monochromatic hue series are drawings done with a light colored crayon, then washed with darker colored water paint; and like every other in the series, this was on a paper in my sketchbook. This one was the most difficult to do since I used a white crayon and hence had a harder time seeing what I was drawing; as a result the face is kind of twisted. I had to move the picture, or my lamp, around in order to see the drawing clearly enough; at one point I even started drawing upside down. Normally with a white subject I may have chosen to wash with black or grey, but since white rabbit eyes are red; and meanwhile it is also easter monday, I chose this red wash. Happy Easter! and now for a bit of humor… This was my landlady’s friend’s kitten. Silly little one pulled on my shirt… don’t mind the silliness… This work has been featured in: / Animal Kingdom
The original photo belongs to another fellow Redbubbler who invited me to draw some of her eagle shots after I drew her Baby. I started this long ago, but then I had put it off for awhile, and decided to come back to it last night/this morning. At some point I got carried started shading here and there without looking at the original photo, so the bottom portion is different than the original :P / More bird art: / Sample bird shots: / More animal portraits: / For more images please visit the category links on my profile page ;)

My fifth one for Drawing Day. Didn’t upload the fourth because I wasn’t happy with it so far – may finish it another day but not for today. Not entirely happy with this one also, but since I got it done here it is. views: 511 / favs: 16 Image straight from the camera. Taken on January 11, 2009 with an Olympus FE-340 It was the first day of the year that the weather in London was beautiful so I spent the day outdoor walking through the parks, and the squirrels are very friendly. This particular shot was in Green Park. While I was trying to set-up my camera to take a photo, this little guy suddenly climbed up my leg! (I missed the opportunity to take its picture while it was there) I looked down at it, and it looks to the side as though saying “I didn’t do anything…” (see image in first comment), then it runs behind me and tries to climb up my knapsack; then runs in front me, spirals up the pole and pokes its head to the side going “Peek-a-boo!” After it climbed down I brought my hand out. It grabbed my finger for a little while, but took off before I could get a picture then :-( ... But atleast I captured the funny Peek-a-boo moment! The light and dark areas in the eye may look like the iris and the sclera of the eye, but that is actually caused by reflections; The dark bit at the bottom left corner of the eye is a reflection of myself with the camera: / / / Also available at Zazzle / /
As is, taken on January 11, 2009 with as Olympus FE-340 We’re so close my reflection can be seen in the eye I didn’t use flash, but the sun behind me makes it look like the camera is using flash. This squirrel out of the blue climbed my leg. I looked down at it; it climbs down and looks away scratching its belly as if going “I didn’t do it” as my shadow lurks over it. Then it ran behind me and tried to climb my knapsack. Then it spiraled up a pole in front of me, poped its head to the side going Peek-a-boo! Yes the above pic is the same little guy :) After it climbed down the pole I brought my hand out to it. It grabbed one of my fingers, then took off.
This used to be called “Gazing Mallard,” until I got the first comment and just could not resist XD Location: Regent’s Park (London, UK) Taken March 14, 2009 I almost went past this mallard, It was hidden among the leaves.
Taken on December 29, 2008 with an Olympus FE-340. Hyde Park, London, UK Despite the wonderful glow of the sun which shining this little guy, it was in fact a very cold day. On the same day I took Illuminance / / / Also available at Zazzle / / / / /
Taken on January 11, 2009 with an Olympus FE-340 in Hyde Park, London, UK The same day that I took these; although this one is a different squirrel and in a different park
Taken on April 25, 2009 with an Olympus FE-340; Barcelona, Spain. So there was this cat that kept rolling side to side at it was playing with its tail. This position remind me of a person getting out of bed :P I saw this the day I left Barcelona; what a way to end the stay~
