Adelaide China Town on a Friday night
Every now and then when I feel a bit stuck for good single shot inspiration, I like to create something odd. This image was the result of one such time…
This was a night of fun… experimenting with my camera… there are no Photoshop works here either… it is as is… :) Enjoy… :)
Autumn along the Blanco River in Wimberley, TX.
Discovered this amazing station on the metropolitain on my last day in Paris, March 2004.
I had red, beige, brown and black pastels to work with for this image. I really enjoyed working with the limited palette because i could just consentrate on the form and flow of the image. The paper was from my standard A2 artists pad. Very basic with a slight egg shell grain and not bleached. One of my fav pieces. I really loved creating this. You can buy this image as t as well> /

48” x 36” Mixed 2008 Oiran: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oiran / Oiran Dochu(from film): www.youtube.com/watch?v= [...] ture=related When we think of Japanese art, we certainly can’t avoid those women who lived in a special world of dance, poetry, singing, playing instruments and the art of make up, fashion and service. / I have been very curious about this subject since I was a child. My grandfather had a lot of Ukiyoe art in his study. / It is a quite challenge to express the essence of Oiran image in an abstract way.

Please see RoyAllenHunt’s written piece: Are You Ok With This. His incredible song is a compliment to this piece. See here for how I created this shot. I really thought I would wait at least two weeks before I tried this again, but then I went hunting in the pantry and found more dye and well, curiosity and motivation got the better of me tonight! Red and green dye this time around. Green was dropped in first, and allowed to swirl around a fair bit, then the red came in. It looked so much like blood coursing through someone, or something..
