Captured along the Mount Evans Wilderness in Colorado, this is one of those waterfalls that kind of sneaks up on ya outta the blue, and if you blink, you actually miss it. I really don’t much in the way of long exposure shots, but after being happy with how this one came out, I am going to start doing them more. Hope ya all like it! I ventured up to Leura Cascades in the Blue Mountains today to try my hand at some waterfall photography.. This was one of the results, I hope you like it!! I used a circular polarizer to darken the scene and allow longer shutter speeds to capture the water flow better.. / Thanks very much for looking, comments and critiquing are most welcome.. The Valley of the Waters is @ Wentworth Falls In the Blue Mountains. The Valley of the Waters may be reached by a direct walking track, which descends steeply through temperate rainforest. Cool, moist, shady conditions prevail, and the area is a rich wildlife habitat. / Apart from the regular bushwalkers, you are likely to meet wetsuit-clad abseilers who like to take a more direct, and wet, route down the numerous waterfalls. / From the valley, National Pass takes the walker to the Wentworth Falls, then back up the cliffs to the village. / The Nature Track, & other cliff-top routes, make a good alternative for walkers who prefer to avoid the strenuous climb in and out of the valley. Host selection in All Parks on October 5, 2009. / / For the benefit of those in the Waterfall group, this photo was taken at 3.58pm on March 8, 2008 on a cloudy day. (4.58pm Summer Time). / The camera is a Canon EOS 400D on ISO 400, F10 with exposure of .3 seconds. / The Auto White Balance gives the water a bluish colouring as opposed to the whiter colouring I got when I used an overcast setting. This image has been slightly cropped from the original photo.

I said a few times I would not go back and shoot Sylvia Falls in the Valley of the Waters in Blue Mountains National Park until I got a wide angle lens. This was simply because the full scope of the supreme beauty of these particular falls is within its wholeness, which can only really be shot wide. I got the lens last week. Return To Sylvia Falls – Valley Of The Waters was shot in RAW using a Canon EOS 10D with Sigma 10-20mm at 10mm with a Warm Filter, ISO 200, 1/10 of a sec at f5.6. Featured in MASTERS OF THE SCENIC, Blue Mountains of NSW, Canon DSLR, Nature’s Wonders, Shots in the Fog, and Your Magic Place. The beautifull Buachaille Etive Mor in the Glencoe mountain range , Scotland. Photographed with some fine friends and fellow photographers on an ePHOTOzine members meet last saturday (7th Nov) . We got up at 4am to drive the 2 hours from Pitlochry to Glencoe for sunrise. When we arrived it was cold, grey and raining and you coulden’t even see the mountain the fog was so bad. We persisted though and were rewarded with some nice early morning light :) It’s taken numerous trips over 5 years to get a decent pic of this spot, one of my favourite in Scotland.
