An amazing double rainbow in the North Queensland bush.
it has been a while since I’ve posted something up on redbubble… more will follow (when I get around to it!)
Taken from a moving vehicle. Late afternoon as the mist was coming down.
©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 02/14/07. A strange evening in the deep woods with jewel colors and bizarre shadows. Under a tattered moon you see the sign of the wolf. Mystical mischief is afoot. I hope my latest whimsy gives you a grin. Thanks for looking. Seth
A friend asked me to design some wine labels. This is one of the images I used.
A view of the God’s country…

Last light is a narrow window when photographing in the mountains. The sun shows itself later in the mornings and retires earlier in the evenings…all at the hand of these great giants. I was late arriving on location this particular evening and didn’t think I was going to have much luck. Shadows marched swiftly across the landscape, but this scene suddenly presented itself and rendered the day complete.

Lake Bala North Wales. Evening sunset and snow covered mountains.
I set my alarm for 4:30 AM but it didn’t go off for some reason and I ended up waking up at 5:20… So I rushed out of my campsite in Rock Creek Canyon and drove like a madman up Highway 395 to get to Convict Lake before sunrise. I made it to one of my favorite spots just as the fishermen were starting to show up. I took some photos before sunrise and got ready for the light show…
This photo was taken a little after dawn at Convict Lake in Sierra Nevada. The alpenglow was amazing and lasted for quite some time. Convict Lake is situated on the eastern side of the range which is made up of steep cliffs and very scenic vistas. Since it faces east you have to get up for the sunrise if you want to see the alpenglow. Sunset is beautiful as well but nothing compares to the beautiful reds and oranges reflecting off the stark granite.
Leaf floating in the lake at Devil’s Tombstone Campground in NY’s Catskill Mountains.
Autumn glows from a bright sun as reds and yellows fade to brown…
Mount Morrison is a very majestic part of the scenery at Convict Lake in the Eastern Sierras of California. The oldest rocks in the mountain range can be found there. The mountain gets its name from a famous old west shootout that happened at Convict Creek. To summarize, some outlaws broke out of prison in Carson City, Nevada and headed to this area to hide in the canyon. A posse was formed to capture them headed by Robert Morrison with their Paiute indian guide “Mono” Jim. Both were killed in the violent gun battle that ensued. Mono Jim Mountain can be seen in the foreground.

A gaunt ruin still stands proud in the unrelenting heat of the midday sun in Oman. The trees , almost in the centre of the photo, are beached by the searing rays: they look dead but miraculously cling to life.

PSALM 90:1,2 / Lord, through all the generations / you have been our home! / Before the mountains were born, / before you gave birth to the earth and the world, / from beginning to end, you are God. View On Black
Mount Morrison towers over Convict Lake. At dusk it is the last mountain in the canyon to give up the sun’s light. In the foreground is Mono Jim Peak. I return to this area many times every year trying to capture the beauty of every season. It is a very special place for me.
