  • New Mexico ….well known for it’s light to photographers and this is one example as to why. During this time of the year, the sun often tends to linger in the western sky and cast some amazing long and warm shadows to the East, and lucky for me, that meant against the Sandia Mountain Range. What really got me is that sheer openess of everything, just huge, gigantic open spaces that one can stop at, set up their gear, and have at it. Anytime, anywhere, and people don’t look at ya like you’re 1/2 insane lol Anyways, thoughts appreciated! / —-John

  • This beautiful fall evening was a real treat in Trout Run, Pennsylvania. The sun made a quick appearance from behind the clouds, as I was crossing the bridge on Trout Run Mountain Road into this friendly little town. The cool breeze was ruffling the fallen leaves and causing the old willow tree to kind of “sparkle” in the sunshine, in a beautifully usual way. After the old paper mill was closed here, the “dead” creek was able to come back to life! There really are lots of trout in Trout Run Creek now! This is a gorgeous place where the people truly respect their little stream, and it shows. This photo was taken just before sunset on Sunday, October 18th, with a Canon EOS 10D DSLR camera through a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L telephoto zoom lens @ 50mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/20th sec at f/19. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release. Your comments are always welcome!
