A winter panorama shot of the valley Valldal on the west coast of Norway, taken during the christmas holiday. Stitched together of 15 pictures. Post-processing: / Stitched some pictures together, obviously. Fixed the contrast with curves, added a lighter curve only on the lower part as the valley was pretty dark, and the mountain tops really light. Added two black and white layers set to hard light (140%), mainly on the sky and the mountain tops.
Sorry about the pun, ‘revamped!’ I’ve put a filter on my watercolour painting, to increase the moonlight atmosphere

A Susan Epps Oliver original 2008. All rights reserved. My interpretation of my neighbourhood….... This started life as a general panoramic photo of the Blue Ridge mountains taken during a trip on Skyline Drive in VA. The main addition to the photo was the use of the fractalius filter but the most time-consuming part was trying to get the colour balance the way I wanted it to be. Software used….. Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro and Ulead. Featured in the “Virginia” group. Bridge in the Shenandoah

One of the many stunning views from the top of Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. I loved the patterns the clouds made on the ground.
Featured in Safe Haven December 25, 2008. Same scene, different minute … one of the things that fascinates me about the mountain is the incredible difference in the view that Mother Nature displays for our enjoyment … minute by minute the advancing shadows play with color and light creating nuances and surprises that feed the soul. Taken December 21, 2008 with the Nikon D40x and the 18-135 lens, circular polarizer attached, on top of Blue Knob Mountain in Claysburg, PA.

THIS IS A BIG IMAGE VIEW LARGER FOR BEST RESULTS Isnt it a buzz when you get that perfect light, the shades of day as it is born, as the first rays light up an already magnificent view ? For those viewing, commenting and favouriting if i’m lucky thank you This shot was taken from Echo Point in the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area at dawn, it was created from 5 bracketed images using a Nikon D300 fitted with a Nikon 18-200mm. No filters were used. The image was taken at sunrise certainly a great view. The Blue Mountains are located 2 hours west of Sydney by road, also by train for visitors to Sydney, there are also organised day trips via motor coach that will take you to the area for the day…. though if you have the time spend a few days in the area. You can see all the attractions, have a devonshire tea in one of the many teahouses, or sit on the edge of the valley that seems to go on forever, and listen to the birdlife. Bushwalking is a must ! We’re living on the edge of The Dreamtime, / just a breath away from the Dream. / We’ve written the script, so that we can get hip, / and now we’re playing “the Game”. I’d faltered on the lip of the abyss, / left of the rights of ignorant rats. We’re living on the edge of the Dreamtime, / just a step away from the Serene. / We’re balancing on the tip of our Nightmare, / while clinging to our world of false dreams. I fought the battle of instant insanity, / in the fear and the still of an asylum’s night. / And stepped-out of the darkness of my ignorance, / with an in-formed prognosis called insight. My people, the world, the beautiful boys and the girls, / the black and the white and the frail, / sleep through their lives with desirous eyes, / as their beliefs encourage their greed. As we fall off the Edge, then mayhap maybe / we’ll renew our pledge to grow in the flow / of love-in da light. So interpret your Dreaming - / as dark-hearts grow scheming - / enwrapped in the knowing of another place, / deeper within your inner-Space. Yes, we’re living on the edge of the Dreamtime; / as long as we remain in Be-leaving. ... [if you’d like to see a larger view of this, view here ]
This is one of my Dad’s photos. My Dad put some photos of his onto a disc that have won competitions, and this one is a particular favourite of mine! As I haven;t had a chance to get out with my camera for ages and take some of my own, I thought I would upload some of his!
An old lantern next to the entrance to the Virgin Mary Visitation church in Hejnice, Jizera mountains, Czech Republic. I feel that giving light is very symbolic for this place where the pilgrimage roads from several countries cross since the 13th century… February 2002. Canon EOS 500N, Sigma 28-135. Post-processing: retouch, blend-modes, color correction, watercolor.
