  • Standing on the shores of Loch Rannoch one evening, looking past submerged trees over to Schiehallion in the distance. Taken on the Hasselblad using Ilford FP4+ film.

  • A stunning Scottish sunset behind a wind farm near Thurso on Scotlands North coast. The low lying fog really sets the turbines off. One of my favourites.

  • This may only be a shaky handheld job on my little pocket camera (fujifilm finepix a500) but is one of the three pics I’m proudest of ...ever…. and it still makes my heart lurch every time I see it! It had been six and a half hour walk in and up from sea level to that point and comprised more rock scrambling than I had ever envisaged and a heartstoppingly precarious walk along the ridge. I had carried a small tripod every step of the way but the others waiting wanted to press on with even harder descent and 4 hour return trip so I had no chance to set up…..... / :)) The view looks back over Loch Hourn into the highlands from the top of Ladhar Bheinn, or ‘hoof hill’ ‘one of the finest mountains in Scotland with narrow rocky ridges and spectacular corries’ (Scottish Mountaineering Club Guide). It is 1020m but we had scrambled up and down on the jagged ridge repeatedly so had climbed considerably more. The last snows of the winter look reassuringly solid in this pic but in fact stood proud of the mountain leaving the sheer drop visible beneath. We had sailed into knoydart the most remote penisula on the scottish mainland from Mallaig into the hamlet of Inververie which is inaccessible by road, only by sea or a demanding walk of many miles. It is graced with the fantastic Old Forge pub with superb meals and imprompu nightly ceilidhs which walkers and sailors really enjoy! Deer roamed the gardens and early next morning I got the precious shot of morning gems Looking back in an amazing place For full details see heartbeat ridge Ladhar Bheinn, in the remote scottish knoydart peninsula For an idea of scale see also hey wait for me / See all pics of this stunning area by clicking this link: knoydart

  • Taken from the Old Man of Storr, Scotland. for Ange

  • Up early in anticipation of dawn over Ben More in the scottish highlands but things soon went downhill as low grey cloud arrived bringing another day of scotch mist… That was the last we saw of any sunlight for those few days but it was great walking weather nonetheless!

  • A low angle 10×8 shot of the Buchaille from a well used spot on the RIver Coupall, one of my favourites that I have taken from here. Canon Eos 5D, 1.2 ND, 0.9 soft ND Grad, 8 seconds @f22, ISO 50 http://lewisgolbourn.redbubble.com/

  • A wonderful golden glow over Loch Garry as the Sun goes down behind the distant hills.

  • The very beautiful and majestic Buchaille Etive Mor.

  • Small cottage under the mighty Buachaille Etive Mòr in the Glencoe region of Scotland. November 2008

  • Glen Etive

  • The phrase “swan song” is a reference to an ancient belief that the Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) is completely mute during its lifetime until the moment just before it dies, when it sings one beautiful song. It was also the name of legendary rock band Led Zeppelin’s record label. / Rowardennan, Loch Lomand, Scotland. / Infrared HDR on modified Canon G6 and processed with Photomatix. /

  • Buachaille Etive Mor possibly the most photographed mountain in Scotland. camera used fuji9600 ND4

  • The Cullin mountains fade to silhouette as the sunlight plays on the ancient and eroded coast at high tide, Elgol, Skye. Scotland. Map

  • A wintery sunset at Loch More in the beautiful scottish Highlands. Featured in Highland & Island Photographers

  • An amazing view as you drive along this road – but NOT if you have been visiting Talisker Distillery beforehand, and have been sampling the Malt Whisky !! Shot on a Canon EOS 40D with polarising filter, f16, ISO 100, Auto WB, single RAW processed in CS3, curves and levels adjustments, and colours enhanced by developing in LAB colour, just a tad.

  • Inspired by the Cairngorms near Aviemore, Scotland / original size: 90×90cm / Oil on Canvas

  • Sundown in Glencoe captures the beauty of this area with the sun just going down behind the mountains producing wanted lens flare. Nikon D60 = f/9, 1/320sec, ISO-100, FL=18mm

  • The path that leads up to the Beautifull Fairy Pools under the shadow of the Black Cuillin mountains Glenbrittle , Isle of Skye Shot last November. 3 images merged to HDR. Canon 400D + Sigma 10-20mm and ND Filters

  • These are the mountains of Assynt in Sutherland, Scotland, (Stac Pollaidh on the right and Ben More Coigach on the left) It is a landscape that has barely altered since the icesheets retreated 11,000 years ago. This area to me is a wonderland, a magical, ancient kingdom and sparkling expanse of wilderness perfection, with seemingly countless twinkling lochans, white sandy beaches, and sparse, bizarre, isolated mountain peaks rearing up like sentinels from a barren land. This to me is real Scotland (forget your Nessie, Loch Lomond, Fort WIlliam etc), Scotland starts at Torridon for me :)

  • A less traditional choice of images in this Calendar, I have chosen to display how the never ending weather moods of the Scottish Highlands can dramatise a landscape. / Enjoy ! MORE CALENDARS HERE….................

  • Torridon, Highlands, Scotland / /

  • Moody and changeable Glencoe, the gateway to the Highlands of Scotland. / Can never get enough of this place.. forever beautiful whatever the weather.. / November 2009. Canon EOS30D, CP, 121s/121m Graduated filters, tripod and remote cable.
