Autumn in the Rockies is always special and one thing I just love to do is get out on the backroads and explore….and this is one of those shots from doing just that very thing. Captured in the little town of Riverside, Colorado….I wish this place was mine! / Thoughts welcomed!
This is part of a series of shots taken by a friend of mine working in Libya by the name of Matt Hagan (very cool man with a passion for everything he can get his hands on). He took these shots while on a trip to Acacus / in the Sahara desert, Libya. / I have made some contrast, saturation and cropping adjustments to the images but the praise and compliment must please go to Matt. Any sales of these images also go to Matt. Thanks for letting me show these great images mate. / . / / . / ! http://images-3.redbubble.com/img/art/border:blackwithdetail/product:mounted-print/size:medium/view:preview/919095-1-yes.jpg!
Hope ya like!! Enjoy! _
Painted from the terrace of a rented apartment in the tiny village of El Golco. In Andalucia, Southern Spain. / The Moorish architecture, with characteristic domes and ‘godfather’ chimneys. This was my first attempt at ‘en plein air’ painting. / The second of two paintings, I did in El golco. (As I further appraised this, after uploading today, it seems more abstract. Although I didn’t intend that, at the time!) June 2007. / Watercolour, 11” x 8” on rough paper.
Could you live here ?

It’s been a while since I posted my last fox picture, so I figured I was due. I’m noticing that I have an extensive collection of wildlife either yawning (probably a commentary on my work), sticking out tongues (again, a commentary) , or pooping (hopefully not a commentary). In this case, this fox is yawning. I’m impressed not only by how wide he can open his mouth, but how clean his teeth are (cleaner than my dogs teeth after brushing).
A must to view larger! One of my fave places to take sunset shots over the Coomera River on the Gold Coast, looking towards the Hinterland! Panoramics /

This image won the I’m What You Make Me challenge on June 2, 2009. This image was featured in the Northern California Style group on June 3, 2009. This lighthouse memorial is located on the bluffs overlooking the bay in the city of Trinidad which was founded in 1850 and is the oldest town on the northern California coast. The lighthouse memorial is a replica of the nearby Trinidad Head Lighthouse. In 1949 the Trinidad Civic Club was the recipient of the California Grand Sweepstakes prize, Build a Better Community Contest, which was awarded by the National Federation of Women’s Clubs and the Kroeger Company. It is a memorial to those lost and buried at sea. Digital image post processed in Photoshop to create a painterly effect and then a triptych effect also created in Photoshop. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Please do not copy or download this image. I know, I know – another fox shot. “Hi, I’m Jay, and I’m a fox addict . . .” If you’ve been following my reports of my little fox world, you’re already familiar with the alpha male, Pock. I have no idea why the locals call him that, but that is his name. He’s easy to identify – he has a fairly light colored coat and a squinty, rheumy left eye. Local rumor has it that he was playing with one of his kits and it accidentally scratched his eye, and it never full recovered. It does seem to give him more trouble in really cold weather. In this shot, you don’t really see the squinty eye. Despite this, for a long period he’s been the alpha male of his little area. Other foxes would defer to him and even jump and run out of his way hen challenged. He’s a bold little guy as well: I’ve seen him hold his own in a confrontation with a coyote at least 3 times his size. He trots down the same trail as me and passes within a few feet of me, and even uses me for shade on bright mornings. I’ve also caught him rooting through my camera bag when my back was turned. There seems to be a shift in the political structure in the fox world, though. The beta male, who has never been as bold, stole food from Pock the other weekend. It was only a few months ago he was running away if Pock gave him a sour look. Pock’s not a youngster anymore, but he’s still very active, and my most commonly spotted fox. We’ll see what happens in the following weeks and months in this little soap opera.
