  • I took this picture on the steepest island of the world…La Palma (canarian islands). Although it’s the steepest island of the world it’s very rare that it’s snowy on top of the biggest vulcanic mountain. / It was a lucky week so I drove all the way up to the “Roche De Los Muchachos”>>> / (3000 metres high). Shortly before I reached the top a little cave caught my attention. / I went inside and discovered beautiful, thick icicles. The energy there was incredible….it felt pure….above the clouds…elements. check what the product looks like here thank you for stopping by!

A thousand Yellowstone wonders are calling, ‘Look up and down and round about you! John Muir – 1898 The temperatures were in the single digits on this cold, snowy January morning at West Thumb Geyser Basin, which is one of the smallest geyser basins in Yellowstone. A incredibly scenic area along the shore of Yellowstone Lake, West Thumb only has a small amount of geyser activity. However, the basin more than makes up for it with its diversity. Despite its small size, it has paint/mud pots, hot springs, pools, lake shore geysers, and fumaroles. Fumaroles are small openings that release steam and other gasses. You can see in the foreground the muddy, soupy waters inundating the paint pots. The white area beyond the tree line in the right hand side of the photograph is Yellowstone Lake. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Please don’t copy or download this image. • This design inspired by Japanese kimono designs and wood block prints. I originally designed it for dark colors, but it actually looks kind of cool on some of the lighter ones – aqua, lt blues and pinks. Related Items From Our Other Shops: / (Click on Image to View and Buy)

  • November 11,2006, driving through an early winter squall from Calgary and into Banff National Park, in the Rocky Mountains. Caught sight of Castle Mountain and stopped to wait until the wind and clouds gave me the view I was looking for. Very cold, but I managed to get several that I liked. I think this one is the best. • Another shot part of this series taken at the top of the Garibaldi Provincial Park hiking trail (at the end of the campground) some 9 km from the valley. Took this a few weeks ago as the sun was starting to slowly come down and casting a few nice shadows on the frozen pond next to the lake. / This is another HDR image, 3 images used to create this image. / Shot with my Canon Xt, Sigma 17-35mm lens

  • Here’s another shot of Garibaldi Lake which is location in Garibaldi Provincial Park. This image is part of this series of HDR images I took when we did this 18 to 20 km hike (return). It’s one of the easiest hikes around and can be done summer like winter in about 7 to 8 hours return. When you get to the campground on a clear day, your rewards is this ridge of glaciers feeding this alpine lake. This one hiking trail links up to other which brings you over and around the ridge to the right onto another plateau which I’m hoping to do this summer, probably a 2 or 3 day hike. Canon Xt with a sigma 17 -35mm lens, 2.8 / HDR treatment in photomatix, and better viewed full screen Other images part of this series are : / / /

When we arrived at the mountain on Friday afternoon, the temperatures were hovering at slightly above freezing and the icing on the trees and the roads was trying to decide if it wanted to refreeze or not. The winds came up … and the power to the cabin was out. It was going to be a c-c-c-coooold night if the power company couldn’t get up the mountain!! But we underestimated Valley Rural Electric … those brave darlings had our power back on within a short while, and life was good. For about 2 hours. Then just as my son was arriving and driving down our road there was a POP and a blinding flash and we were again plunged into darkness. The powerful power guys were back on the scene quickly and by the time we got back to the house after having dinner out, the electric was back and stayed back. Saturday was windy and gray with a little snow toward evening. Sunday morning broke bright and beautiful, as you see it!!! I hope you enjoy our view!!!! Now, go grab some hot cocoa (drinking chocolate to our British friends), crank up this tune … then come back and enjoy the rest of my winter-wonderland!!!!! TransSiberian Orchestra Taken from the deck at our ski cabin on Blue Knob in Claysburg PA December 21, 2008. I was using the Nikon D40x with the 18-135mm lens and the polarizer. Only levels and some shadows and highlights touched.

  • I am sharing this image that my husband Wayne took many years ago that’s been scanned from a print. / In 1992 we had an incredible snow fall which left many sheep stranded in the high country and needed to be rescued. / In New Zealand it’s known as Snow Raking – combing the hills looking for stranded stock, freeing them and standing them up (when they lie down they get frozen in place), then stamping a track down to lower slopes where they can be fed. Since we are in our autumn/winter season I’ve uploaded this for interest.

  • 19×25 pastel on Sennelier La Carte paper FEATURED IN C.O.R.E., FRIENDS OF RED BUBBLE, FIRST THINGS, THE PATCHWORK, AND THE SISTERHOOD / She has been sitting on my easel for the longest time. I finally got inspired to finish her. I made her a lot bigger than the others in the series, so that should appease her for me taking so long on her. / She is the Spirit of the North Wind. It is the wind of Winter and of death, but also of rebirth. She gives us the wisdom to overcome death and to know it is not the end. We must walk through the Northern gate at the end of this life and she will be the one to usher us through. Listen to cold Winter wind, and let her help you release your fears into the darkness of the night. Also from the Series

  • We really don’t get much snow on the West Coast of Scotland, because of the influence of the Gulf Stream, and on the rare occasion it does fall, it is soon gone!! / Beinn Bhan is one of the peaks of the Applecross range, seen here from near Ardarroch, Loch Kishorn, on a gorgeous Winter’s afternoon. just as the sun was going down…at around 3.30pm !!
