This composite was made specialy for a the “chaos” challenge last year.I just let myself go and tried something different from what I use to do.I had a old picture from my trip in France when I went skiing in the Alps.The black stain at the left is,in fact,a restaurant at the “Trois Vallées” resort and you also can see the skier’s traces on the snow…. :)) I did a double layer with a shot of the moon taken with my Panasonic FZ-20…some coloring “et voilà”.....just for fun….

This was one of those freak photos, straight off my camera, the only thing i changed was the white balance and the original was in color!!!... i walked straight past this spot on the walking track and my friend pulled me up!!! Spider webs were every where, there was late afternoon fog that had nt lifted, sun was perfect, dead trees, it was all there!! 30 mins later when we walked past, the sun was too low and the fog had lifted and the web could hardly be seen!!! freaky…......right place…......right time…....hahahaha…

Mountain lion. In speaking of the many names of cougar, one folktale tells the story of Native Americans who would bring pelts to trade in what is now New York City. When the Europeans and white settlers would question why all only skins of females (given the lack of manes) were brought for trade, the Native Americans explained that the males lived far away in the mountains, playing a joke of sorts on the naïve newcomers—this is why cougars, who are not specific to mountain regions at all, came to be known as “mountain lions”. The etymological history of the word cougar comes from French naturalist-explorer Count Georges-Louis Leclerc Buffon, who called Puma concolor “cuougar”. This usage was derived from the Brazilian Portugese word cuguacuarana, which in turn came from the Tupi Indian word susuarana, which means “false deer”. We find that this word aptly captures the international allure and cross-cultural nature of the species, while distinguishing our organization from a popular brand of athletic shoes—Puma. Cougar is graceful and balances intention, strength and responsibility. Others are always safe when cougar is in charge. The cougar is very elusive and is rarely encountered in the wild. Because of this quality, cougar can appear without being noticed and quietly take control of a situation. Sometimes this can lead to conflict with others over territory. It is often noted as an animal that is independent, shy and withdrawn. The same characteristics are often found in people with this medicine. Cougar is associated with leadership and teaches decisiveness in the use of personal power. When it attacks it does not hesitate. When threatened it goes for the most vulnerable place. as you can see we had more cloudy days then sunny ….I had to remember I was in the mountains ..up 3000 feet most times ..and clouds were part of the scenery .... it did clear up but I wanted sun tho !!! we had more cloudy days then sunny until we got to Grand Prairie Alberta … / I didnt mind really . .I was just so thrilled to be there ….. It seems easier to find success where others have found success, but following a personal path may lead to a rewarding journey. Such was the case in the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest of California’s White Mountains. The Patriarch Grove is home to dramatic bristlecone trees, the oldest living things on Earth. My goal was to photograph the trees of this grove, where many other photographers had already captured wonderful images. My wife, Linda, suggested an alternative hike along a steep ridge to an unknown destination. I followed her intuition, and together we discovered a lone bristlecone tree, high atop the ridge, catching the last warm rays of the sun as it set behind the Eastern Sierra Mountains. Our path was in the opposite direction of the famous grove, but it led to a single tree that symbolized the enduring strength and beauty of the bristlecone forest. Canon Elan 7 camera and Provia 100 film.

The road to Timna Valley Park , South of Israel, 30 km north to Red Sea From WIKI : The Park is noted for its natural sandstone formations, including King Solomon’s Pillars, the “Mushroom”, “Arches” and “the Sleeping Lion”. It includes what are believed to be the oldest Copper mines in the world, dating back to at least 4000 BC and worked almost continuously by (among others) the Egyptians, Romans, Nabateans and Ummayads. / markers to Timna Park Rock carvings, including “the Chariots”, and ancient inscriptions are visible as well as mining shafts, the remains of ancient copper furnaces and a temple dedicated to the Egyptian goddess Hathor.

We really don’t get much snow on the West Coast of Scotland, because of the influence of the Gulf Stream, and on the rare occasion it does fall, it is soon gone!! / Beinn Bhan is one of the peaks of the Applecross range, seen here from near Ardarroch, Loch Kishorn, on a gorgeous Winter’s afternoon. just as the sun was going down…at around 3.30pm !! Shot on my Canon EOS40D, tripod, polariser, f22, 1/10th sec, iso 100, auto wb, RAW file processed in PS CS3, levels/curves/selective colour/hue and saturation.
