  • Silver Lake in Cottonwood Canyon. Added the elk and photoshop.

  • Wild horses in Utah. Today I found them way on top of the mountain. Usually they are down lower but they have moved up. There are a lot of new foals in the herd and they all seem to be doing great.

  • This is part of the Bear River National Wildlife Refuge that is about 6 miles from my home in Logan, Utah. The mountain range in the background is the Wellsville Mountains, Google them and see some interesting statistics about them! Of course I added the cute Lazuli Bunting, the extra layer of silhouette leaves and the moon, plus a little more cloud color..;-)

  • Lost in Utah would have been a more apt title after the GPS affectionately known as “Dorothy” lead me to a graveyard instead of a lake lol. I discovered some gorgeous countryside along route. There is nothing better than getting lost :))

  • Photo taken at the Grand Teton National Park Wyoming An ethereal mountain landscape where jagged peaks tower more than a mile above the Jackson Hole valley, Grand Teton National Park is located in northwestern Wyoming just south of Yellowstone National Park and just north of the town of Jackson. Visitors can reach the park through U.S. 191. The park’s mountain range is very popular among climbers, hikers and photographers. The Tetons are a prime example of fault-block mountain formation. When the earth’s crust cracked along a fault millions of years ago, the Tetons rose into the sky. The exposed crystalline rocks give these mountains their dramatic appearance in any season. The Grand Teton rises to 13,770 feet above sea level and 12 other peaks reach above 12,000 feet elevation. Photo taken by Canon IXUS

  • The classic Monument Valley photograph featuring the East and West Mittens and I believe Merrick Butte. This started as a color HDR image from six separate frames. Three exposures of each half were converted to HDR images and the two resulting HDR images were stitched together into a wider panoramic view for maximum detail. That was then converted to B&W for the most impact. Photo taken in Monument Valley, Utah (Navajo Territory) This image has been featured in the American Southwest group and HDR Photography group. It also recently won 1st place in a photo contest at H&H Color Lab and 4th place out of 200 entries in the B&W Landscape Challenge on DPReview.com.

  • A backlit waterfall in the very scenic Emerald Pools area of Zion National Park in Utah, This image was captured while hiking in April of 2008 and a park ranger informed me that the falls were flowing as heavily as he had seen in many years. This is surely an area in Zion not be missed, especially in early spring. All content & images © Stephen Vecchiotti. You may not use any images in any way without written consent from artist.
