At Day’s End As the sun goes down over the front range mountains of Denver, Colorado, the Sunflowers turn, in anticipation of the sun coming back up in the morning. Photographed in a field where all you can see for miles and miles is Sunflowers….billions of Sunflowers. An entire sea of yellow and gold….caught in my lens for a fleeting instant, where the whole world was at peace…. Captured along the Mount Evans Wilderness in Colorado, this is one of those waterfalls that kind of sneaks up on ya outta the blue, and if you blink, you actually miss it. I really don’t much in the way of long exposure shots, but after being happy with how this one came out, I am going to start doing them more. Hope ya all like it! November 11,2006, driving through an early winter squall from Calgary and into Banff National Park, in the Rocky Mountains. Caught sight of the mountain and stopped to wait until the wind and clouds gave me the view I was looking for. Very cold, but I managed to get several that I liked. I think this one is the best. / / It has been featured in “Masters of the Scenic” Group , in “AMERICAS ~ Rural, Urban, Wild, Free – Expressions of Artists” Group, and in “Retired and Happy , 4 a Day Limit.” It was #2 in the Landscapes Challenge of “The Addicted Photographer►2 Per Day◄ group” and it was First Place winner in the New Features Challenge of “Pacific Northwest” FEATURED ON RB HOME PAGE JUNE 5th. 2009 The actual name of the mountain is “Castle Mountain” which seemed appropriate for the title. / Sony DSCF828 camera /

For me summer holiday memories are all about bare feet, the sea, the smell of aerogard and barbeques, and long days and warm nights often spent in a caravan park by the ocean. This piece is about all of that, but I also wanted to infuse it with a bit of darkness and mystery …Holiday villages are so full of life and colourful characters by day, but at night when all have gone to bed and secured their temporary little homes, they can be quite strange and creepy…
I took this picture on the steepest island of the world…La Palma (canarian islands). Although it’s the steepest island of the world it’s very rare that it’s snowy on top of the biggest vulcanic mountain. / It was a lucky week so I drove all the way up to the “Roche De Los Muchachos”>>> / (3000 metres high). Shortly before I reached the top a little cave caught my attention. / I went inside and discovered beautiful, thick icicles. The energy there was incredible….it felt pure….above the clouds…elements. check what the product looks like here thank you for stopping by!

Autumn Travels Shot in Alluvial Fan area of Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado What a scene that just glowed…and I mean GLOWED. It made your jaw just drop open. I am fortunate in that no one else was there, and was lucky to be able to take about 100 shots of this scene alone, playing with composition and such, and custom white balance settings, and in this one, something similar to a sunset setting was used. Let me know what ya think! Can ya hear the rustling of the leaves?? / —-John
