June 2007 I’m on a roll with mixed mediums! This one is a mix of calico, hessian, shellac, paints, string… I have tried to capture the essence and textures of Africa… It smells like Africa funny enough, could be attributed to the sage burning at the time of creation. Look out for the symbols… Table Mountain, Tribal Patterns, The bushveld, animals and animal totems. x Carmen

Wilsons Promontory – ‘The Prom’, 2008 Have managed this summer to get out there and surf a bit. Lately just me, my board and my camera down the coast, tenting it and basically taking time out for myself. After a few hours in the water you get this kind of fuzzy peaceful feeling inside, equal parts exhaustion and elation. I love that headspace of daydreaming, and find it a really inspirational state for visual ideas to come to the surface.
Pendergast Hut, Mt Buller. Other Landscapes ... More Mountains ... More Mt Buller ...
Taken May 20 2007 with a Fuji E-510. See my Hayama calendar. This is located by a beach in Hayama, Japan; the town where I did my internship. Hayama is renowned for the beach and green hills, and this place was just a drive down. Hayama literally means “leaf mountain” in Japanese, and indeed Hayama is full of green mountain. But in this case this mountain in mostly rock, with a bit of green at the top, which is why I inserted “ishi” (meaning “rock”) in the title name. Slioch, and Loch Maree. (I think it is worth viewing larger!) This is one of my favourites for many reasons, but mainly due to the CD which was playing in the car as I toured the area – Long Distance, by Runrig. Such an inspirational band for me over the years…..... As such, I saved this until last of my images from my Scottish foray. I hope you have enjoyed viewing them over the last month or so. For now, its back to scratching what I can from the English landscape until May 2009, when, hopefully, there will be a few more surprises presented on RB. My next projects, involve a bit of experimental stuff, and more wildlife work, so, if I dont catch up with you over the festive period, please enjoy yours, and I hope 2009 is a bit brighter than the tail end of 2008 has been for many. All the best / Graeme

Best on Full Size This image was taken at the same time on October 10, 2009, and in relatively the same spot as Almost Home but I was turned in the other direction, looking back the way I’d come. This area is within the Blue Knob State Park in Pavia, Pennsylvania on the extension of Pavia Road (4035). Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200m vr Nikon lens, hand held. Shutter 1/400, aperture f/10.0, exp. 0.00, iso 1,000. Duplicates created in Photoshop to an eval of +3, +1 and -3 and processed in Photomatix Pro for hdr, then returned to Photoshop for the addition of two textures and some tweaking. My thanks to Princess of Shadows at Deviant Art for the textures.
