This was actually taken in a place called Paradise (pronounced Paradeese), in Switzerland. / One of my favourite places in the world. / No cropping or enhancing, just as the camera remebered it! Featured in ‘That’s Entertainment’ group.

The plan was: .....a nice casual hike about 3hrs to take in the beautiful mountains around Grindelwald. The reality was a +6hr hike through the beautiful mountains around Grindelwald. Reason for the extended play was that at our planned destination, which was a bus stop, we discover that the buses stopped running the week before…..so we had to make our way down from a height of 2300m to about 1100m (to Grindelwald village). Switzerland The “Matterhorn” is one of the world’s most famous mountain. / It rises 4478 meters high, but is not the highest mountain in Switzerland It is unknown who named this mountain “Matterhorn” or where the name comes from, but there are many families in this valley named “Matter” Lying on the border between Switzerland and Italy, it is one of the highest peaks in the Alps and its 1,200 metres (3,937 ft) north face is one of the Great north faces of the Alps. / The mountain overlooks the town of Zermatt in the canton of Valais on the north and Cervinia in the Aosta Valley on the south. Although not the highest mountain in Switzerland, the Matterhorn is considered as an iconic emblem of the region of the Swiss Alps. He is on every Chocolate cover, Souvenir ecc. / Toblerone Chocolate has his triagle shape I can tell you, the view is breathtaking! Trümmelbachfälle (Trümmelbach waterfalls) is a unique-in-Europe series of waterfalls inside the mountain. Trümmelbach brook alone drains the whole glaciated area of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau with up to 20.000 liters per second! Take a lift through the mountain and get fascinated by the power of water… Photographing the waterfalls was all but easy: difficult lighting with very high contrast between lit water and dark rocks, long exposures of several seconds, best views being often from bridges trembling due to both tourists’ steps and enormous water masses, omnipresent spray of glacial water and everything wet… Fascinating experience, I have spent two great hours photographing, completely forgetting about the rest of my family… Lauterbrunnental, Switzerland.
