The cabin of Carter Shields Place makes a beautiful autumn setting as it may of been around 1830 or 40’s.It’s location is on the Cades Cove Loop Road in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It’s preserved by the Park Service and an example of early Appalachian structures.

The Alien landscape inside the creater of Haleakala on Maui, Hawaii as the sun rises over the horizon. IT was freezing cold up there with a temp of about 40 and winds of 25mph or more. We got up at 3AM to make it there for sunrise and watched the temp drop almost 40 degrees as we made out ascent.

And it includes the stream’s entire watershed as well.We should do what we can to help preserve these beautiful wonders of nature before much of its flora and fauna are gone.

I searched on the net and emailed quite a few mountain bike groups trying to find this place. I didnt get far with my inquiries so I headed out and looked for it myself. Parked my car at the end of Ridgeway Road in Blackheath and walked for ages along this dirt road. After what seamed like hours I finally found Hanging Rock. I ventured up to Leura Cascades in the Blue Mountains today to try my hand at some waterfall photography.. This was one of the results, I hope you like it!! I used a circular polarizer to darken the scene and allow longer shutter speeds to capture the water flow better.. / Thanks very much for looking, comments and critiquing are most welcome.. A fashion shoot in the Karroo, a beautiful semi-desert part of South Africa. The model was on top of a 100metre high cliff and I had to climb the opposite cliff face to get this shot. A really worthwhile effort..

The Valley of the Waters is @ Wentworth Falls In the Blue Mountains. The Valley of the Waters may be reached by a direct walking track, which descends steeply through temperate rainforest. Cool, moist, shady conditions prevail, and the area is a rich wildlife habitat. / Apart from the regular bushwalkers, you are likely to meet wetsuit-clad abseilers who like to take a more direct, and wet, route down the numerous waterfalls. / From the valley, National Pass takes the walker to the Wentworth Falls, then back up the cliffs to the village. / The Nature Track, & other cliff-top routes, make a good alternative for walkers who prefer to avoid the strenuous climb in and out of the valley.
