This work was featured in Live, Love, Dream. The background (sky and water) is a photograph of clouds I took during summer 2007 just before sunrise. I never really figured out what to do with it. Inspired by the dreamy tune of Catch A Fall by 4 Strings. I had this song on repeat while I made this.

A stunning Scottish sunset behind a wind farm near Thurso on Scotlands North coast. The low lying fog really sets the turbines off. One of my favourites.

A combination of 2 public domain photos, 2 brushes, and a rather unpleasant chapter of my life that I only recently realized I had never before expressed in my art. The idea came from the Pensieve concept from the Harry Potter series, in which a person can return and view their own memories from an external point of view. (The figure in the foreground on the left actually looks like me, which I found a bit creepy, but fitting nonetheless.)
Alpine Tundra Sunrise Location-— Mount Evans visitor center in Colorado, elevation 11,500 Feet Description: This shot was hard. Dang hard to take. Not from a photography standpoint but from a serious lack of oxygen standpoint. Over 2 miles up….surrounded by Bristle Cone Pines (one of the oldest living things on earth, only seen on Mt Evans…several thousand years old) this Alpine Meadow made for quite an ideal location, when I wasn’t huffin’ and puffin’ and getting very dizzy from walking 20 feet! lol I had to stop several times to catch my breath. This is the edge of the tree-line, where very little was behind me, the oxygen is to thin for things up here to grow. Used my Minolta 18-200 DT Lens on this shot. —-—-—-—-—— / More of my work can be seen on my website at http://jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. Digital Art: Created with Photoshop. Started with a blank “canvas”, selected a brush and started painting with the mouse. It took a while but the cold and snowy night is felt throughout the composition.
My memories of California, its mountains, open sky and small lights, seen from afar. Concentrated watercolor and pastel on Arches paper.

“Flight” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © “To stand at the edge of the sea, to sense the ebb and flow of the tides, to feel the breath of a mist moving over a great salt marsh, to watch the flight of shore birds that have swept up and down the surf lines of the continents for untold thousands of years, to see the running of the old eels and the young shad to the sea, is to have knowledge of things that are as nearly eternal as any earthly life can be.” / ~Rachel Carson See “Flight” at my website /
