  • Captured above Breckenridge, Colorado….I just had to stop the car along Boreas Pass to get this shot. Sometimes, albeit rare times, mid day light can work, and this is one of those very rare times where it does. Thoughts most welcomed!

  • Wilsons Promontory – ‘The Prom’, 2008 Have managed this summer to get out there and surf a bit. Lately just me, my board and my camera down the coast, tenting it and basically taking time out for myself. After a few hours in the water you get this kind of fuzzy peaceful feeling inside, equal parts exhaustion and elation. I love that headspace of daydreaming, and find it a really inspirational state for visual ideas to come to the surface.

  • “A Moment of Silence” Looking East From Picture Lake Into North Cascades National Park, Washington. The day I went up to Picture Lake to take this photo, it was extremely windy. I thought my day was wasted as I really wanted to capture the reflections of Mount Shuksan. When I got my camera set up for the shoot, the wind subsided and the resulting picture was taken. When I finished the shoot, the wind started up again and the reflections disappeared. That was a lucky day for me…....Lynn This photo was featured in two groups…Western US Artists and Photographers and Mountains and Light /

  • Mount Shuksan is in the North Cascades National Park, Washington State, USA. / This part of the USA is known as “The Pacific North West.” We arrived here good and early, before the crowds arrived, and since there is a highway running all the way to “Artist Point” it can indeed get busy , I guess owing to the fact that it is easily accessible from the Seattle region, straight off the Interstate from Bellingham, an easy drive of less than two hours, and not too remote, / I spotted some postcards and tourist brochures with a variety of images of this scene, and determined to see it for myself. Glad I did. I would love to see this when snow blankets the ground ! “In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.” JOHN MUIR Shot on a CANON EOS 20D, mounted on a tripod, polarising filter attached, f22, 1/30 sec, iso 100, auto wb, 18-55mm lens, / set at 18mm, RAW file, processed as much as possible in Adobe Camera Raw then CS3, usual levels/curves adjustments, LAB colour, Intellisharpen used. • La Salle is just off HWY 16 about 30 miles west of McBride BC in the Robson Valley. I grew up just a few miles from this spot. The Mountain in the background is nick named Hammer Mountain because Many years ago, I think before I was born, a forest fire left a scar in the shape of a hammer head just below tree line and below and to left of the highest peak. View large and see if you can spot it. / I took this photo over 20 years ago with my Canon AE-1 Program film camera. Captured on Kodak 100asa film.
