An update journal has been posted to let you know that Facebook has reverted back to its old terms of service while they “resolve the issues”. ^^^^ February 17, 2009 Update: Read the article on the PCWorld site, Facebook Owns Your Business Data which was posted on February 17, 2009. User beware if you are a Facebook member! They have recently changed their terms of service and now have rights to everything you have posted, including your writing, artwork, and photography! Even if you delete it all today, they retain rights to everything you have posted up to that point. Your profile can be kept in Facebook’s archives indefinitely even though you are no longer a member. I saw this disturbing news on several blogs this morning. Here’s a link to one of the sites. Then if you want further confirmation, go to Facebook’s terms page and see it for yourself. If you are a member of Facebook, be very careful what you write as it could possibly come back to haunt you one day if Facebook decides to publish it. Before it is published they have the right to (and I quote from the terms) “modify, edit, frame, translate, excerpt, adapt, create derivative works and distribute” it. If you want to retain sole copyright of your writing, artwork or photography, DO NOT UPLOAD IT TO FACEBOOK.* What is currently uploaded now can be used in any way Facebook deems appropriate, including sublicensing it. As a member of Facebook, I have used it in the past as a social network to stay in touch with friends and family and only recently to market my work. I don’t have many images posted to my profile, but now that work has been sublicensed to Facebook forever. I never join a site without reading the terms. These new changes to the terms makes me so angry. I was never given an opportunity to opt out of the site before these changes went into effect. I feel as though I have been duped.

I spose I will prolly CC this on my photoblog It needs an update anyhow. First off I discovered this place and no I wish I stayed there, what a place….. Anyhow. The weather here is Denver has been hot as Hades so Saturday I decided I had just flat out had enough. I packed up my gear and headed out at 2pm, destination: Winter Park and Tabernash, Colorado. When I left town it was 104. On the way there at the top of Berthoud Pass, just outside Winter Park, it was like a massage for the body from Mother Nature—-almost 13,000 feet high, 70mph, windows rolled down, and 49 degrees!!! I gotta say I discovered some places that I had never been before, and getting out in this backroads in the country here can lead to some incredible photo-opps and this time wouldn’t disappoint. There is a lot to be said to be standing on a dirt road in the middle of the country, 10,000 feet high, surrounded by nothing but open pastures with Cattle grazing, mountains rising, the sky dark with the smell of rain in the air, and the thunder rumbling. There are FEW things that just do it for ya. I didn’t stand on that road long though, with my tripod, and pretty much high tailed it when the lightning started. Just a dangerous situation, BUT I did get the shots off. I have come to the conclusion that I need to buy a time share or something but in the mountains, or some cheap lil place that I can go and get away for photoshoots ion the weekend…just to de-stress and do what I love doing. I landed home around midnight. 4 hours sleep saw me grabbing my gear once again early Sunday Morning and this time heading to Boreas Pass with a whole lotta coffee! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boreas_Pass This place is just a hidden lil gem here in Colorado, starting out in a Ghost Town that a few folks still live in today, and ending in Breckenridge, it is a place NO ONE really knows about. Not even many locals. It is some of the most stunning scenery that I have ever seen in my life, and the best part, there is NO ONE up there! Not one single damn tourist! If you guys ever come out here on vacation during summer, early fall, let me know because this place is amazing. You literally have the whole road, all of it, to yourself. This allowed me for some awesome flexibility while shooting, being able to set up when and where wherever I wished to. Granted, at 11,500 feet the air is thin, and I was sucking the o2 BIG time, a couple times getting light headed after holding my breath from shooting. Heavy tripods also come in VERY Hand for braces lol BUT the highlight up here—-it’s wildflower season! In it’s peak. And it wouldn’t disappoint either. I have never in my life seen anything like it. Hummingbirds like Bees on the flowers, and the fields of Wildflowers, ....just wow….seas on orange, yellow, blue and the reds from the Indian Paintbrush. Undisturbed by man….. Standing there alone in nature in early morning light with the strong scent of wildflowers, not a sound but the whizz of Hummingbirds, 42 degrees, is akin to paradise! I can’t even begin to find the words to describe it! The air so fresh and pure….lack of o2 yet HIGHLY oxygenated. Invigorating, refreshing, rejuvenating, renewing! Home at 4 pm and just crashed….what a weekend. Woke up at 130 am, from enuff sleep, and just now starting to process my shots. Think I will take today off and work on that, need to wake up at 4am again tomm. morning anyhow, Guanella Pass is next on my list! Then again early Wed. morning for Garden Of The Gods at Sunrise. I tell ya, you can’t be a nature photographer and keep reg. hours, as I have been finding out! lol

I had an absolutely wonderful experience today, shooting in the Blue Mountains. I wish I had time to process all the photos, but life seems to be interrupting me tonight, so I want to post just one now to show the people who participated that it was not for nothing – this is the beginning of the shoot – when we were still trying to keep the dress clean :) Shots of the good stuff – reflecting pool, waterfall, dress in the pool… will follow in the next couple of days. Many thanks go to: / Gemma – the beautiful girl in the dress / Lorraine – wardrobe lady, dress fixer-upper and generally helpful soul :) / Andrew – location scout, guide, sherpa type dude / Brian – packhorse & fiancĂ© type dude
