  • A winter panorama shot of the valley Valldal on the west coast of Norway, taken during the christmas holiday. Stitched together of 15 pictures. Post-processing: / Stitched some pictures together, obviously. Fixed the contrast with curves, added a lighter curve only on the lower part as the valley was pretty dark, and the mountain tops really light. Added two black and white layers set to hard light (140%), mainly on the sky and the mountain tops.

  • As always – click image for a better view / / A chilly morning on the Mt William range sees cloud and mist plummet off the ridgeline as the colder air sinks into the shadows of the range. Meanwhile the rising sun warms the rockfaces and slopes to the west, forcing the cold damp air to warm, rise and dry – thus lifting and dissapating the ‘downstream flow’ of this ‘waterfall of clouds’. / This ongoing spectacle continued for several hours and was a real highlight to watch and experience ! / / / / Fuji G617 – no cropping,no stitching. Thanks for looking The Legend / _The Aboriginal dream-time legend has it that three sisters, ‘Meehni’, ‘Wimlah’ and Gunnedoo’ lived in the Jamison Valley as members of the Katoomba tribe. These beautiful young ladies had fallen in love with three brothers from the Nepean tribe, yet tribal law forbade them to marry. The brothers were not happy to accept this law and so decided to use force to capture the three sisters causing a major tribal battle. As the lives of the three sisters were seriously in danger, a witchdoctor from the Katoomba tribe took it upon himself to turn the three sisters into stone to protect them from any harm. While he had intended to reverse the spell when the battle was over, the witchdoctor himself was killed. As only he could reverse the spell to return the ladies to their former beauty, the sisters remain in their magnificent rock formation as a reminder of this battle for generations to come._

  • Panorama of 14 images and around 300 degrees fov….Taken from near Hansons Peak ~ Cradle Mountain N.P. ~ Tasmania ~ Aus. / A beautiful scene surrounded by the Autumnal tones of the Fagus. Taken late in the day when the cloud layer lifted and around the same time as a couple of single shots of this place I uploaded a short time ago. As always, I lugged my heavy pano head everywhere I went trekking. Often questioning whether it was worth it as it weighs down your pack considerably..I thought if there was any a time to use it, this was it..! clambering up over rocks to this vantage spot and fired off a few pans. Finally trekking back off the mountain in the dark but very happy with the days efforts….thanks for having a look and any comments…cheers, Rob. / ps, and yes, I’m getting towards the end of my Tas collection…finally..!! Still a few pans to work on from the Tasman though..

  • Taken from the parking lot at Clingmans Dome,GSMNP. The mountain was named for Brigadier General Thomas Lanier Clingman, by Arnold Guyot a geographer. Clingman in the 1850’s was the first to accurately measure the height of the mountain. The mountain was called Kuwa’hi (the mulberry place) by the Cherokee. This is where the legendary great bear chief and doctor dwelled. In whose magic bath the wounded bears are restored to health…Settlers first called it Smoky Dome then later was called Mount Buckley before Guyot named it offically

  • Pyrénées… Une robe d’aube découpe en dentelles fines / les vagues incertitudes d’horizons voilés… It’s amazing how we can be caught by something ! / Someone is caught by a song from his kinderness, someone with an house like my grandfather’s farm,... We are like trees, with strong or thin roots, and wherever you are, you think about it… / In my case, my roots are high in the sky and deep in the Earth, acting in an neverending ballet, playing with clouds like still waves… / My mountains are Pyrénées… / And I went to his summit to embrace with my sight this wonderful ocean !

  • This is version 2 of Cactus Moon. This is an original landscape image I took which was daytime in full sun. As you can see I changed to night time with a nice big moon and stars, added start and Milky Way, and made it B&W. I used orton on the moon. The starry sky was created by adding a black layer with noise and adjusting. Which one do you like best? Original Hope you like! Add me to your watch list now / My Bubblesite

  • And remember, no matter where you go, there you are. Confucius (551 BC – 479 BC)

  • Took this shot last year on Mt Donna Buang in the rain. The rain made photography very difficult but the mist was so atmospheric I thought I’d have a go anyway. Pointing a camera almost straight up in the rain with a wide angle lens and an umbrella is a delicate balancing act. It involved lots of lens wiping, hoping and a few screw ups (drips and umbrella in frame didn’t quite give the shot the right vibe). Of all my shots this ended up being my only drip free and umbrellaless one. To check out other shots from this area see my Yarra Ranges gallery. 10% of all profits go to the Wilderness Society
