I went to the lake very early in the morning ,it was pretty cold but it was worth it ,it looks like the trees were in fire.Oh! NO SATURATION ,this was exactly that color. With saturation we would see some blue tint and we don’t .I could’nt beleive it myself. / I often go to that local city parc on foggy morning. / PANASONIC FZ20 / 55.6 MM-—-1/60 SEC-—-F 2.8-——ISO 100 / Maxhamish(who’s no longer in RB bought a small frame print 4 months ago. / Weberwanjek,a bubbler, bought a mounted print the 11/09/08
The complete and real title is : “Poupée – InnerSelf”. I asked to myself : Stars… They bright the sky, our eyes, our mind & soul. They are inside of us. We always look for them, for these glimpses of lights and happiness. / Do we really know ourselves? / Do we realize that we have all of this inside of us? / What are we in fact? / As we don’t really look in the correct place, we don’t really know ourselves i decided to ‘almost’ delete the face. This composite was made specialy for a the “chaos” challenge last year.I just let myself go and tried something different from what I use to do.I had a old picture from my trip in France when I went skiing in the Alps. The black stain at the left is,in fact,a restaurant at the “Trois Vallées” resort and you also can see the skier’s traces on the snow…. :)) I did a double layer with a shot of the moon taken with my Panasonic FZ-20…some coloring “et voilà”.....just for fun….

What do you call the light that permanently imprints itself into the deepest corner of your cerebral real estate? Just a memorable one, divine, sublime? The star was going down fast, as it was just a matter of ‘to get it over and done with‘ a daily sunset routine – until that moment. Like it was switched on by some all powerful hand residing somewhere in the center of a kingdom of light, the sunbeam reached across the valley, bringing all the associated attributes with it, like joy and warmth, just for a few moments, before disappearing altogether. The blue cold haze drowned the beautiful Hawkes Bay valley, but not before the last ray of sun got there first. I was standing in awe … for a while in fact, still in disbelief. Review button and LCD screen confirmed it did happen. Sweet. I’ll treasure selfishly the melody of breeze passing through the treetops, the smell of golden grass and feel of fallen leafs under my feet. Not to worry, I left something to share with you. Here it is.

I used a Canon EOS Rebel XT, Focal Length was 80mm, ISO 400, F-stop F/4.5, This was taken up the Trinity Mountains, it was almost dark. There had been fires up there a year before. its why the trees look this way, I found it interesting and started to take the trees against that sky.

MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD / Best viewed large. / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group COUNTRY ROADS/AROUND THE WORLD / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group NATURAL COLOR AND LIGHT / / / This is a recent photo of my favorite country road! It is located in Flatwoods, Kentucky, in Greenup County, which lies in the northeastern part of the bluegrass state. Many of my relatives live in or just outside of Flatwoods, and my Dad built this one. / / The scenery from this road is almost surreal, it is so beautiful. Surrounding this road are country farms, barns and old churches. This road winds around a gorgeous mountain cloaked with a variety of lush trees and evergreens, whose leaves are radiant in the Fall of the year with brilliant shades of yellow, orange, red, brown and green. / / At the top of the mountain is the end of this magnificent road, which leads to a private, gated mansion that overlooks the entire county. It is very quiet and peaceful there, and everything, including time, seems to stand still on this beautiful road. It is a breath-taking view from the very top, and this is truly my favorite country road!.. / / / To read and learn more about this special country road, / go to:COUNTRY ROAD

Ladybirds again from the Mt Burr area. More flowers taken out to them recently and they blend so well with the colours. Shot taken within the Mt Burr Forest, South East South Australia. Canon 400D 18-55 lens with three stage extension tubes.
We spent a weeks holiday in this area, and the weather was pretty poor most days, I had a hard time pulling anything good out of my Canon 40D !! / However, on the last morning, I woke early to a glimmer of light, and planned to shoot the early morning light falling on the Summer Isle. Of course, that didn’t work out, so feeling despondant, drove around the corner to turn around. / Glad I did, for less than five minutes, the light played ball ! / I knew I couldn’t shoot for a conventional shot, far too much contrast with those sunbeams, so I settled for a three – shot , hand-held, HDR image. There wasn’t time to set up the tripod, but I didn’t need it, since great depth of field was not required on this occasion. Luckily I had my IS ( image stabilisation ) lens already fitted ! The light rapidly disappeared under a big blanket of cloud, which remained with us in the North West for over a WEEK !! / It was however, a magical moment, filled with adrenaline ! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, Canon 17-85mm f4.0-5.6 IS USM lens set at 79mm, 0EV, -2EV, +2EV, RAW, iso 100, cloudy wb, then processed in Photomatix, and further enhanced in Adobe Photoshop CS3, where I had to do some more selective Tone Mapping, in particular the moorland, where I wanted a little ‘pool’ of light. I also helped along the sunbeams with a subtle use of ‘dodging and burning’. / LAB colour was also employed, gently. The ‘warm up ’ photo filter was also used in Layers, and eradicated from areas not required by using Layer masks and painted out. / The result was what I had in my mind when I saw the scene, and could not be described as a true record of the scene before me. / This is the Digital Age, let us enjoy it, and use it to advantage !! Best on Full Size This image was taken at the same time on October 10, 2009, and in relatively the same spot as Almost Home but I was turned in the other direction, looking back the way I’d come. This area is within the Blue Knob State Park in Pavia, Pennsylvania on the extension of Pavia Road (4035). Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200m vr Nikon lens, hand held. Shutter 1/400, aperture f/10.0, exp. 0.00, iso 1,000. Duplicates created in Photoshop to an eval of +3, +1 and -3 and processed in Photomatix Pro for hdr, then returned to Photoshop for the addition of two textures and some tweaking. My thanks to Princess of Shadows at Deviant Art for the textures.
