Rainforested mountains sweep down to long sandy beaches. One of the most biologically diverse areas in the world, the Cape Tribulation area was included in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area in 1988. Daintree National Park, World Heritage Cape Tribulation, Far North Queensland, Australia (approximately 150km north of Cairns). The cape was named by Captain Cook in the late 1700’s, since it was just a little north of here that his trials and tribulations started when he ran his ship on to the Endeavour Reef. I found this older cow barn and stream near Meat Camp, North Carolina. Meat Camp is a mountain community near the town of Boone, named for explorer, Daniel Boone. According to regional history, the Boone family had a meat camp near here. /

It is so wonderful to be able to return to special places in all seasons. Even though I missed Spring in this collage, maybe I’ll be able to sneak up on it this year! These pictures were taken in Summer, Fall and Winter on a beautiful trail off the Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina.
