Jamison Valley, Blue Mountains at it’s most majestic.
Sunrise from Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills. This was the most amazing sunrise I have ever witnessed. The fog was incredibly thick and lasted for hours. It was Magic! More foggy images can be seen here: Foggy /

Mount mikoto This is part of a bigger design that I am slowly putting together. It reminds me of Uluru’s The Olgas that are in Kata Tjuta National Park, Northern Territory, Aus. However in this instance they are snow capped and of course smiling.

“Seven Swallows Sitting” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © A family of Australian Woodswallows perched tightly together on a wire preening each other against a background of bright blue sky. Bowen, Queensland. “The swallow, bonny birdie, comes sharp / twittering o’er the sea, / And gladly is her carol heard for the sunny / days to be; / She shares not with us wintry glooms, / but yet, no faithless thing, / She hunts the summer o’er the earth with / wearied little wing.”
“Pour Me a Rainbow” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © A row of old water syphons filled with colored water sitting on a window sill. “Couple of jiggers of moonlight and add a star, / Pour in the blue of a June night and one guitar, / Mix in a couple of dreamers and there you are: / Lovers hail the Moonlight Cocktail.” / ~Kim Gannon Pour Me a Rainbow was featured in the: Prize Challenges Group
One of my favourite mountains… no matter which way you approach it, it has this delightful and yet slightly disconcerting way of popping out at you when you least expect it.

Ladybirds again from the Mt Burr area. More flowers taken out to them recently and they blend so well with the colours. Shot taken within the Mt Burr Forest, South East South Australia. Canon 400D 18-55 lens with three stage extension tubes.
Finally I got some luck with the Full Moonset and no clouds.. Not a cloud in sight this morning, and the moon was beautiful setting over Mount Cooroy. I have been doing tests lately with composition of moonrises and moonsets. If you take the shot with a massive zoom, from a few 1000 metres away, the moon is beautiful and large! I have learnt to throw away the 10mm lens for these kind of shots! Moonset of Thursday, 6th August, 2009 – 6:04am. Over the Noosa River, Noosa Sound, looking over Noosaville. Canon 5D Mk II, 800mm (400mm + 2x Tamron). Available very large, and best viewed Large!
“Tall Timbers” Photography and Artwork / by Holly Kempe © Wooded landscape of Gympie, Queensland. “It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.” / ~Robert Louis Stevenson Tall Timbers was featured in the: Queensland group – Aug 09

When I shot this I always saw that I’d turn it into something dark & moody, even though the truth of it was that it was midday, quite well lit, & my son was having a great time running along the boardwalks which are a good 25 metres high…. he apparently has no fear of heights….. unlike his parents. [Canon 1000D, tamron 18-200 mm, many of my own textures, & one of my TTV images to break up the dark of his jumper]

High up on a mission to photograph the awesome Wakefield Falls..Mt. Cook N.P. Sth. Island ~ N.Z. / This shot looks back into the Tasman Valley. We had intermittent rain showers which were a little annoying having to constantly keep the ND’s clean – but so so worth it for when the sun poked it’s head out, we’d get this rainbow across the valley..A fantastic late afternoon out photographing in this incredible location..
