The red windmill as it appears at night, commercialised yet eerily warm
One of my “bathroom mirror” self portraits. Keeps me occupied on foggy nights! : )
Paris, January 2004
B&W tone – Combined photograph of wild birds near Eiffel tower and an icon of moulin rouge in Paris. / See Sepia tone
Photomontage created to celebrate the wonderful theatrical stage and essence of the Parisian nightspot. Created from a photosession and stills shot on location, composited together in Photoshop to create a final image
A Victorian Artists muse! She started as a doodle and just grew – i was thinking of artists muses and had been reading a book on the Moulin Rouge at the time and seeing nobody could ever beat Kylie as an absinthe fairy, this started to take form. I used the colours of red and green to indicate the poppy itself…and i wanted her to arrive in a shower of gold and silver to signify the beauty, high and rush that opium addicts are supposed to experience on first meeting with their chosen substance…or muse…i personally dabble in vodka and am yet to create a suitable fairy :) Acrylic, enamel and feathers painting by Kate Image copyright © 2003, KB – of www.elegantsavage.co.uk. A COLLABORATION WITH LINAJI / (Thank you very much for your excellent poem) Where Do You Love From…Really / Author: linaji Where Do You Love From? / Your pink painted toes? / Or the hollow of your sighs / As my tongue journeys unabashedly / Down the silk trails of your thighs Does my latent life scream Onlyness? / Echo Eons from the heart / Where do you / Love from / Live From / Darling / When do we ever start? History has changed much / Now that Eve did eat the snake, / She brought about apples only / For mother’s pie in Adam’s wake Where do you Love from / Really? / The marrow of your bones? / Is longing, loving and living here / A pirates chest of stones? What about your fingertips? / Dipping softly into my flesh, / Do I utter sighs with beggars eyes / Or do I let our two lips mesh? Do you feel from what is stillness / A time when lovers care, / Do you ooze the sweet-laced vapors? / That my focus on you dares, That moan / That cry / That primal stare / That leads me inside you / Elusive hips that ride your smile / And worlds outside the Que. / A passions mist that takes our lips / A fog beyond compare, / I lay here spent with one leg bent / And dream with you I dare.. Now,, Where do you Love from,,,, / Really. FROM PARIS SERIES: / UNE FEMME PENSIVE / GLAMOUR / / BELLE PARISIENNE / / CHARLESTON / / / BELLE DE JOUR / / / FEMME EN BLEU /

Moulin Rouge Paris France. This version is a combination of 2 photos, I did this to get the best angle of MR and the Metro sign, while still being as close a possible to a real view. I have then applied the Cartoon filter that comes with the Olympus Picture Card.

Miss Dolly was one of his moulin rouge gals full of life and character … Painted in corel painter using real bristle brushes along with some of my own custom brushes, sketched straight on to canvas no layers or textures other than the watercolour paper ….....
The Moulin Rouge, Paris. It was built in 1889, and became birthplace and home to the can-can dance. While the production of the show is very similar to what Baz Luhrmann portrayed in the film, important to note that the interior looks absolutely nothing like what the film shows. Added a light sepia tone to this one. Thought it would be interesting to take the bright neon lights of the present back into the past. It is an amazing building, inside and out, so original, borderline on tacky, but able to get away with a lot more than if it were in any other city. In the Creuse (Limousin, France) are a few small rivers, La Petite Creuse (the small Creuse) and the Creuse. / Last years I visited there many moulins (mills) , but they all were ruinous and inoperative. / However, this year I have found a working watermill…...and a real beauty! / This is Le Moulin d’Angibault.
